Kinda. Imagine that u send a block me. There is 8 sec difference between us. It's ok. But then I send the block to Klee. There is also 8 sec difference between us, but there is 16 sec gap between u and Klee, so he will reject this block.

If i could possibly grab a coin so i could get into this a bit faster that would be awesome. Miners don't need to worry about it. Ppl who use Nxt must remember what confirmations are for. 10 confirmations is the lowest sane number. It's like 1 BTC confirmation.

You don´t have to do anything, as soon as you have some coins you will start mining, the more coins you have the higher the chance that you will find a block.
But you have to have the acount open to mine if you close it you will stop to mine...
