whats going on with this?
A good question!! As far as I know Darkhorse will be proceeding with the redemption plan as previously outlined. I know he was quite severely impacted from floods in his part of the world earlier in January, so I expect recovering from that event has taken up a lot of his time of late. I fully expect Darkhorse will complete the redemption process sometime soon(ish).
As for myself, I was the victim of a hack back in mid January and I needed to take a break from crypto for a while to take stock and lick my wounds. I wasn't completely wiped out (probably a 6.5/10 on the hacking richter scale) but it was enough to knock me around mentally & emotionally. I learnt a few life lessons, so some good came from it.
As for project ORA itself we'll complete the redemption process and swap ORA & MIC assets for XOR MS currency tokens, then ... I'm not sure. That's the truth as I see it. ORA hasn't exactly taken off, but we have shown a certain degree of resilience, and many coin projects have vanished due to scams and unethical behavior, but we haven't been unethical, and we're still trying.
I do believe it's still very early days for crypto, and the universe has a way of rewarding persistence. Maybe ORA will attract more support once the redemption process is underway and we'll crack the holy grail - 'a real world use for an MS currency'.
We need help, that's for sure, and if you've followed ORA for a while you'll probably know that we were trying to build an ethically focused community FIRST, then flesh out the tech and other details as we went along once we had more people involved.
If your a "glass half full' person'' we're probably still on the 'build an ethically focused community first' stage.
If your a "glass is half empty" person we've probably failed and ORA is dead.
We lost our original dev under difficult circumstances, and since then it's been difficult to generate active support. I take full responsibility for that, but in my heart of hearts I think I tried close to my best to plant a 'seed' that had a chance to grow into a decentralized leaderless starfish. Sometimes people try hard and fail. I think trying to start a crypto project as a non-developer is particularly hard.
For those that bought ORA tokens on the NXT AE and are under water ... I'm sorry. I'm pretty sure I'm down the most (I bought ~14 million ORA) but that doesn't mean your loss is any less, but hopefully it does show that whatever happens from here, ORA was/is a serious attempt to 'create' something, and the people involved weren't trying to scam anyone. We just seem to have failed to generate enough active interest ... so far.
I'm definitely not giving up! As I said above, the universe seems to reward persistence.
This is a very good statement of determination, Thanks!
The NXT monetary system is one of those wonderboxes that suddenly appear and are so powerful that initally no one really knows what to do with it until someone rips that cord and something unexpected and huge pops out.
ORA is the first, so I won't be surprised if we see some astonishing surprises!
Also, the initial plan was to make (yet) another QORA clone, and ORA is lucky that that plan didn't work out, considering what has happened to QORA- so please go ahead!
By the way- are there any more ORA tokens to be bought on the NXT AE, and can I still send thim in?
Should be possible as I understood, the 2nd April was not a deadline, but a starting date for exchange, yes?
I havent checked in some time, I just checked, -there is a bunch left, I think maybe I'll get me some more!
