The ANN updated, Windows and Linux binaries ready, MacOS X binaries coming tomorrow. Would be good to update our web site as well. We need to notify all pools and exchanges of the hard fork.

does this update/fork address the orphan issues when mining? I've been running v1.5.0.0-orb-3-g78dc34f-dirty because of it....

Orphans shouldn't be an issue with the coming block target of 2 minutes on average.

Thanks. I've updated the wallet and so far so good:

@almightyruler

I don't have any problems with connecting the network, i also don't have any addnodes added in my conf file.
If i delete my peers.dat and start the wallet again, i'm connected to the network in some seconds.
If you haven't done this yet you could try to open port 15298 at your firewall/router.

Yeah, I think it's an obscure bug, because it only happens when people use a SOCKS proxy, and that's probably fairly rare. My client has full outbound connectivity via the proxy, so that's not the issue - there's something in the code which isn't discovering and saving the peers for some reason. ORB isn't the only coin affected by this - HYP, ORB and CLAM all need periodic updating of a manual addnode list.

The other bug is that the client is trying to do DNS lookups when it's supposed to be using SOCKS.

what for a System?

ORB has a good chance to grow.

@almightyruler

The other bug is that the client is trying to do DNS lookups when it's supposed to be using SOCKS.

so, i delete my peers.dat

and no Problem. after 5 min 11 Connections .. mh?

edit: But almightyruler  Bring an other interesting fact. the peers.dat is growing ... but a smaller seems to be better in terms of performance and orphan blocks if you hold a lot of ORB. So automatic deletion of obsolete peers would be useful. Let's say older than 30 days
Now 17 Peers found and 20 and 24

Think with your brain. It is not illegal (yet).
MacOS X binaries uploaded. All my seed nodes are running v1.6.0.0 now including the official Abe powered block explorer. Although most people should be fine with the in-wallet block explorer. It's much faster.
Great work! Thank you!

@almightyruler

Nice debugging and analysis. I wish I had the time do test the SOCKS instead of wearing them Cheesy
I updated with the linux amd64 client compiled by ghostlander directly (stop wallet, replace binary, start wallet) and worked flawlessly. Oh, I'm connected through a NAT router (my own) and I don't use a SOCKS proxy.
