It was empty indeed. However when you launched the Qt GUI client aka wallet for the 1st time, it created the data bases required and started to download blocks. Your wallet.dat is also there. Anyway, you say you have a backed up copy of it. Decompress the wallet distribution and put your wallet.dat in the empty data subdir. You have no need in orbitcoin.conf unless you want to make use of advanced configuration options. You may also decompress the block chain data, though it's optional. That's all basically.

Hey, Dev

Are you in here? Need some help, wallet will not load anymore. Have the 1.5.0.0 wallet.
Says cannot load block chain. Wallet then says, check db.log file. cannot find anything in
roaming data app, no folder or files. Hidden some where, but where? Have windows 7,
it worked fine, until computer shut down to install updates to windows 7. Would appreciate
some help here. Asked in another thread, run by Orblord no response in 6 weeks or posts.
Have 1200 more ORB, I would like to put in wallet, but will not load. Any ideas on where
folder or files located at? I can then delete folder-files and reinstall wallet. Yes wallet.dat
was saved before wallet malfunctioned. Folder and files not located in roaming app data.
Tried searching for folder or files no luck so far. Thanks for any help in advance.

Peace, Dennis

Have you looked at the README.txt? I bet you haven't. Everything is in the data subdirectory of where you have the orbitcoin-qt.exe installed.

If your Windows crashed for whatever reason with the wallet running, it could damage the data bases. If you have no back-ups for the forementioned data subdir, make a copy of your wallet.dat, delete everything in this subdir except your wallet.dat, download an archived block chain copy from the OP and decompress it. Let the wallet synchronise. Make a back-up.

I did read readme.txt file. The data folder that was in extracted zip file is empty. qt.exe was running when got shut down from auto installed update.
I looked for any subdirectories and hidden files on computer, no luck locating anything related to Orbitcoin. Hard to delete something one cannot find. I tried deleting zip file and extracted files and tried to reinstall coin, no luck doing that either. What, I am thinking you mean is that the files are suppose to be in the data folder? If this is correct, then that folder is now empty. I will try and delete everything again, and try to install again.
But, if there is still a hidden file or folder still on hard drive somewhere, it probably will not work. I tried installing qt-exe on a different computer, did not work. Was never installed on that computer before. But would not load or start up either on the other computer.
So, maybe you might have an idea where the program can be found? That is separate from download folder/file? Never had a wallet not work after
computer shuts down to install updates. It closes the the wallets, but I can reloads the wallets again.

Peace, Dennis

Should I put a conf. file in the data file folder? If so, should I have an rpc username and password edited into the example conf. file?
Sorry, but never had this happen with other qt-exe wallets before.
Thanks, ghostlander

The wallet seems to run better on linux for me, I had the same type of issue you are having with windows when a PC had a hard shut down.

Since you have the wallet.dat file backed up you can reinstall a new wallet, wait for it to sync delete the new wallet.dat file and replace it with your backup wallet.dat file.

Keep in mind the files and block data are all in the same folder you launch Orbitcoin from

This allows you to store everything on a Thumb drive if you wanted and launch it from any PC with windows

It is not located in the typical appdata roaming location that many QT wallets default to.

hope that makes sense

Looks like the website is down

http://www.orbitcoin.org/

might be worth creating a static html page from the drupal template as a backup

I found that to be handy for my drupal sites that generated income from adwords

There is definitely something wrong with fredflintsone.7790

Try creating a new worker and use that. I tried to connect with fredflintsone.7790 and it will not recognize that worker :-(

hi all,
i am using a small miner setup for neoscrypt and i have tried to connect to DNB.io on all of the nifferent coins but when i put the addy and all the other info into the "pimp" address it just simply shows up dead and i leave it for over a half hour, thak god for other mining pools right ?  any help would be awsome thanks!!!!!
I don't have PIMP but I've never had a problem connecting with sgminer. Chances are your command line is wrong. Make sure your worker/user name is correct. Here is my command line:

DISPLAY=:0 GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1  ./sgminer --algorithm neoscrypt --url stratum+tcp://strat.dnb.io:3031 -u Chernobyl_Exports -p x --intensity 13 --worksize 64 --net-delay --no-submit-stale
