tl;dr checkwallet said I had 754.5 mismatched ORB, but repairwallet didn't change the balance.
It doesn't affect balance if it's correct, though it removes failed transactions from wallet.dat at least.
Still seeing the occasional odd thing happening with the wallet, where checkwallet says (unexpectedly) that there are mismatched coins:

I am happy to report that I am happily staking my orbs on the Raspberry PI 2. Considering I am a total linux noob, I'm feeling quite proud of myself right now. I really appreciate the help.
Anyone trying this at home is in for a challenge, but that's all part of the fun.
