No surrender, no retreat, no regret.
Yeah, looks to be a no go on the PI.

I managed to compile and start syncing but the client crashes about a quarter of the way through sync.

Bummer.

Are you using a Pi B+ or Pi 2?

Do you have swap enabled?

What does messages say?

I have a Pi 2 still sitting in the box, once I get around to connecting it I may have a go at compiling and starting up orbitcoind, just for fun Smiley

I am on the PI 2
I have the client up and running but but I need a linux blockchain to download... anyone?

Raspberry Pi 2 will do it. I have updated the OP with a link to the Linux block chain data.

Ok, I am clearly a sucker for punishment..

I've read others in the thread have had issues syncing from scratch with client crashes.

If one of you kind souls could provide a linux bootstrap I could load onto the pi you could really help me sleep at night.

I hate it when things dont work, but I am so close. I just cant let go.

Could be a challenge. Some coins consume large amounts of RAM. On my FreeBSD box, orbitcoind currently has 1035MB allocated to it, with 573M in use.

It's certainly doable - I've successfully compiled and run VOLT on a Pi B+ - but you'll probably be using a fair amount of swap, which may cause issues with excessive write cycles on your SD card.

Staking may also be a little erratic, since the CPU is less powerful, but I guess in the long term the increasing weight (due to "missed" stakes) would even everything out.

Challenge is an understatement..

I have been at it a couple of days now and I am pretty much defeated. If anyone does mange to get it to compile on the PI. id love to hear about it.

Phoenixcoin runs well on Raspberry Pi, but Orbitcoin is double the block count and also much higher on memory usage because the block index is kept in memory. It will run on Banana Pi or ODROID C1 or something like. You should compile with all assembly optimisations off because there is no code for ARM yet.

So yesterday I finished the second round of the cheap ORB's, with the goal to build a larger community!

There were 3000 ORB again! What I have donated! The price does not slide to 0.00003 BTC. What I wanted! But it was a smooth down!

This month there will be no more round of me! All my ORB's first have to stake out my 4 Wallet's
