Something to keep in mind merge mining can devalue a coin as it takes less (perceived) mining effort/cost.
How? Increased hashrates just make the coins go up in difficulty which if anything leads to greater mining effort/cost. Merged mining would be awesome plus it would strengthen each of their networks
