I guess nobody other than me eventually wants there coins back

I do.  Will likely be filing suit against both in late spring.  Coins are worth too much now to just let them steal them and keep them.

Edit: I'll bet if someone calls up that Domains by Proxy, and says they are filing criminal charges against the owners of phenixex.com, you'll find out who the real owners are.

Yes, they should have a legal address to send subpenas to requesting the information as it relates to a lawsuit or criminal investigation. Once verified, they'll release the information. A real company would have no need to hide its contact information. It was intended for individuals so that their home address and phone number were not out there.

no refunds Sad

and nothing I can do Sad apparently its not worth bothering with as there is less than a 5% chance of wining in cort

You'd probably win.  Collecting is another matter.

Yes, but still we'd get to find out wtf happened and who these people actually are.  I'm sure this MIKE character was linked to a mike on the GFY board. He can't be that hard to track down and yet nobody knows his name?  something fishy here for sure.  People over there have sent him bank wires for work done so they must know who he is.

Magnet got taken for tons of BTC with this scam, surely some of you want some kind of result here even if it is to find out who exactly took your money?

He's the same guy...

As I've said before, talk is cheap.

OP claimed to be on the cusp of doing refunds and now over a month later...nothing much but talk and now silence.

with BTC rocketing away, there is more incentive than ever for these guys to try and get their funds back? any word on the refunds yet?

This is very surprising. It maybe a case of them being in this scam together.

DomainsbyProxy is just GoDaddy's "non-personal" registration service. I use it on andarazoroflove.org and have since mid-2003ish. Its just to keep your personal info from showing up in a "whois," and costs $9.95 a year. Not too scary.

Agreed.
Personal information can distract from the purpose of a web presence.

Hello All my name is Bart and i have been following this board for some time. Hello to all the community members glad to be apart of the community now. It has been a long time in the making but this phenixex.com issue has made me come and post what i have found and what i did not find.

No offence, but it's suspicious that a new user would register just to throw a counter-conspiracy theory at joeri.  That sounds like something johncar would do just to try to get people looking in places other than himself.  Edit: I just noticed that iamatrix logged in TODAY, for the first time since oct 1.  Suspicious that's the same day you show up?

Also the source of that company name is unconfirmed.  A random user posted it, presumably copy/pasted from some phenixex page or communication.  But it's meaningless without a source.

On a related note.  This is important to me, and to everyone else here.  If you check who the www.phenixex.com domain is registered to, it's a company called Domains by Proxy.  Their slogan is: "Your identity is nobody's business but ours".
Note to self, and note to everyone else here: DO NOT trust any site that is registered to a company such as that...  GoDaddy shows that the domain has been registered to that company since April.  That is some pretty damning evidence that the scam was pre-meditated from the very beginning..

Doesn't help us much now, but for future reference, that is a quick check we can do before we entrust our coins to any new site.  If we don't get our coins back, that's usually what I refer to as "pay to learn".

I'll post these details here, in case they get changed or lost:

DomainsByProxy is a standard Godaddy feature.  It is what you get if you pay a few dollars more for the domain to not have personal information associated with the domain.

If that is a real bet, I'll take it.  I will bet you that informing domainsbyproxy: "I am filing criminal charges against the owner of X domain" is not going to get you any new information about the owners of the domain.
Having a court order in your hand might (and it might not, depends on the court, and the order), but simply asserting what you expect to do, very much won't, I'd wager.
