halibit, can you share your plans with us, please? Have you finished designing the prototype? When do you expect to start production?
No I have not finish new prototype yet.
This may take while.
I don't want to start selling unfinished model.
But as I wrote, concept is ready, just need a lot work.

If you want, we can start selling fast&cheap model but honestly it can't find nuggets as minelab (on iron ground).
It might be bad reputation to start with that...
I really want people will find gold with our model.

Can't say ETA for new model, but I will start with it on next week.

Never before 11 P.M.
I have got to keep this revolutionary idea on the first page.  This is basically what Satoshi had in mind when he created Bitcoin.

1) Metal detectors or gold or something relating to neither or both.
2) Huh
3) Profit.

Quite frankly I don't see how this could ever fail.

Here is short answer about trip:

I got good experience about gold fields on Australia and what kind of detector is needed in there.

Current market situation:
Currently there is only one model what people want to use in AU.
Minelab GP series detectors. (Few Garrets maybe sold also)
There can buy other models as well but I see no one don't buy or rent it.

Any way there is two big issues with Minelab PI detectors.
1. Metal trash
Gold leads in VIC area are full of metal trash, it makes gold detecting extremely hard.
And because hot iron ground there is impossible use VLF detectors (VLF can separate metal types but can't use on iron ground) PI detector is only choice to use.
This is number one problem.

2. search depth and area.
Gold leads are big area but prospected many many times.
Sweeping area with 20cm coil, it may take several months or years to find anything bigger.
Usually tourists not found gold on 1-2 weeks holiday.

$5000 investing per Minelab device is some kind of  issue as well.

Project continuing plan:
I propose we change our product plan a little more advance.
For selling product in Australia, we need to make better model.

Short explanation about how I plan to make our detector working:
We will use PI model with auto ground balance of course.

Then with programmed PIC we will make three advance properties for PI circuit
1. Metal trash filtering.
Only few PI detectors even try to filtering iron now.
My plan is made iron filtering using at least target size and depth filter (this will filter cans and other big metals near of surface)
Other more advanced method: Target response with different pulse frequency and time.
This one is not ever designed but technically maybe possible.
This is most hardest part and I need to make several tests and learn more before I can say more about it.

2. Depth performance:
This can make with boosting signal.
Normally low signal (target is small and deep) can't pick up because it can be just weak ground noise vary as well.
With boost Program we can check low signal on several time. If signal is stable same on every time, we can say it is possible small target deeper.
Also boost program will check signal length and form and can filter small hot ground spots near on surface out (deep and weak signal is short and signal time curve is opposite way than near surface hot rock target signal).

3. Expanding searching area
At first I plan to use double coils, but with program we may add more.
Coil timing program will listen coil and then close it, open another coil and so on.
There is no limit for coil number, but 6 small sniper coils may be still light to use.

I'm also curious for testing multiple frequency in one sweep for best result.

All programs can write in one or two PICs.
Locked PICs will also protect our model.

Of course we can start selling cheaper model as well. Only gold search with heavy ironed soil will need more advance system.

Hello halibit,

Have you returned from Australia?

Yes, I just came back  Smiley
I'll make report and how to continue project soon..

Hello halibit,

I don't wish to be pushy, but how soon is soon?
Good or bad, we would like to know the outcome of the expedition.
In your last blog post, you had found 200 mg of gold and then you left Australia this past Saturday or Sunday - apparently after only three weeks and not 30 days.

Also, will you be canceling the outstanding sell order for the 5046 remaining shares now that the trip is over?

Thank you

This project is really cool, bookmarked and keeping up with your progress halibit  Wink

must admit i'm a sucker for Bering sea gold and gold rush alaska  Grin

wish you all the best with this, and i'm a little envious of you being out there in the field gold hunting  Smiley

"Finally something.. 0.2g tiny tiny nugget."

Very nice to see some sort of progress.

I just invested and marking this thread for the future.

Good luck Alcurex and all those who have invested.

It's the beginning of week two of the expedition and I hope we get another blog post soon. More than just the prospecting, I would be interested to learn if halibit has made any deals to sell his metal detectors.

I will meet local gold detector sellers on Saturday.
We make one day prospecting journey and I can on same way compare this system with latest minelab detectors and coiltec coils.

Quoting the expedition blog:

"I find nice old mine for prospecting. Seems its not scanned before because got old tools from ground which not turned recently. But no gold yet… Three gangaroos watching my digging and maybe wonder why i want to pick metal trash from ground. i have heard they are not friendly animals, but i disagree that. founded today.. saw plate, axe head and stepped on gangaroo shit. I tought there is potato size nuggets on every step. Im maybe 100y late. Lol. Well…I will keep seeking…"

Hope you eventually find more than "gangaroo" excrement.

Daily blog can watch in here: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/goldetector

Is it normal at Tumblr that one must login to check anything?

dont know. first time i use it.

When I click on link you provided I end up redirected to https://www.tumblr.com/login?redirect_to=%2Fblog%2Fgoldetector that contains no user data, it is just a main Tumblr page. Maybe you must activate your blog there or post something to it for it to become visible?
Hey.
Yes looks like without login the blog path is:

It works well, thanks.
