Had a good talk with Kbroadfoot last night.
We worked out much of the details of the Swap and a bit of the giveaway.
We are almost ready to create an official announcement for the PMC1 to PMC2 trade-in.
But there is still much to be done in the planning department that I would like settled before we launch.
This includes planning out how bounty funding will be used.
Please bear with me as I don't have much help right now  Lips sealed

Keep your eyes on this thread for more updates.
Time for a nap!

I am not opposed to having Polo swap coins... however they have about 20,000 PMC there. 20,000 of 499,000 PMC...
They can't be the ONLY means of swapping PMC for PMC2...

Very interested in, has distinguishing feature..

I might not have followed the whole conversation up to this point, but why not choose Poloniex for the coin swap? They are a trusted party and this will be good for publicity. A coin swap nobody is hearing of isn't worth anything, you have to give the people something.

A polo coin swap would be limited in time and scope.
Unless we can ensure multiple coin swaps over a period of time, I don't want anyone to be left out in the cold.

The network hashrate was so low that even without a difficulty adjust we can still mine blocks ourselves.
I've mined a handful of them while I write this.
I'm leaving 2 of my cores on at home to run the network (It's just me, so anyone wanna join in, just throw a single core at it. If you've got ASICS, seriously leave them out).
Just run the wallet and type setgenerate true 1 into the debug menu.

After I speak with community heads we are going to create a new thread and start promoting the revival of PMC. We will also be releasing plans of moving forward and the details of the coin swap.

Heads up: Maardien is going on vacation and his PMC mining will be spotty or even stop... that will halt the blockchain... once this new coin is up and running we will need to mine PMC ( perhaps setgenerate true ) or whatever to get it moving again...  sadly, being a BTC clone means retargeting is every TWO weeks... it could be a bit of an issue...

Should we send our coins to poloniex in case they decide to do the coin swap and the network is slow?

I don't think that is nessesary... the swap will last 1 month starting from July 1st.... Maardein will be back from vacation by then I am sure  Smiley
In the mean time Nullu and others will be starting distribution of the new coins.... we will spin up the PMC if we have too...

Ok good and bad news.
Good news, we are pretty much ready to go Shocked
bad news, no chat on launch  Undecided
I'm gonna have to re-implement it because silkcoin obviously isn't listing some dependency in their build docs and we are pretty much giving up on that route.
In fact their docs are just a copy of the previous coins docs, which are a copy of that previous coins, previous coin docs  Lips sealed

More bad news, the wallet is gonna look fairly ugly on launch.
But I'll be updating as we go along. I've decided its stupid to make you all wait while I try to get this crap working in an ideal fashion.
Once we release then I can take my time to make proper changes.

I need to talk to the community heads (thats what I'm calling you guys now).
Please PM me and let me know your availability either today or tomorrow to chat.
Let's get this ball rollin guys!!

So, what's the status on PMC2?

Same question...

MightyX? You there?

Hey sorry I didn't get home till late last night. had to spend all that money I got from you guys  Grin

Last I heard from the Dev was friday morning/afternoon. He was still trying to work out the kinks with the silkcoin wallet.
Unfortunately thats the source i used. I now regret it because its causing nothing but problems ><
It should work, but there are some...

I'm sorry for the delay guys but my hands are tied until he gets back to me.
I'll send him another message to see whats up.
Going on IRC to see if anyones around, I'll leave it open for most of the night.
I don't want to name the developer publicly, but I'll tell some of the more senior members on the forum who the developer is, that way they can verify for the community that there's no funny business going on.

At this point you can all blame me for the delays  Cheesy

The latest silkcoin wallet, 1.0.9, is running fine for me. No errors there. It was the 1.0.8 that was causing problems. And the 1.0.9 looks a lot better as well!

Official Block Explorer is back in full sync Smiley daemon had crashed (been running since inception and debug log was HUGE!!!)

Great!

I was working off 1.08 Embarrassed
I've just tried running the new silkcoin qt 1.09 and its still crashing on load no matter what I do.
The developer has complained three times to me already about the silkcoin wallet  Lips sealed
If we just wanted the ugly basic bitcoin-qt wallet we could have our new coin two days ago!
But I'm not ready to give up on the silkcoin source. It gives us room to grow and implement very useful features in the future, when we are ready.
Block explorer in-wallet for example is a handy feature.

Going out for an hour and then I'm gonna spend tonight sorting this out. Please bear with me.

You are also on windows x64 right? I am, and 1.0.9 really is running fine here.

Anyway, good luck fixing it! I would love to see the silkcoin 1.0.9 for PMC! The design is much better, and the extra features are really nice.
