I do believe that both names have good arguments.  Its a fun debate that I hope isn't holding our release up.  ☺. I'm for whatever keeps us moving forward.

I like PMP too...speaking of evolution, has there been an evolution coin yet?

Wish we could get some more votes, but I'm getting tired of waiting and we are behind schedule.

All though I do agree that the 2 isn't necessarily a reminder of failure. It is a reminder of a specific event or period and it is limiting in the fact that it is a reference to a time or event that will be irrelevant in the future.

For example, Coke changed their secret recipe in the past. What if the name of Coke was then changed to Coke2. And 50 years later you were still calling it Coke2 even though the change from Coke1 to Coke2 is old news and irrelevant.

We are obviously not going to please everyone here.
And I'm not in the habit of trying to.
PMP or PMC2 is a tough one though. I like them both.

My vote is for PMC2. Its not a reminder of failure, but evolution, PMC keeps with the times. Thats a plus in my opinion.
PMC started out as an experiment to see what BTC would be like once all coins are distributed. PMC2 is simply the next experiment.
..What that experiment is may need more explaining though?? =x  What a fully distributed POS coin is like? I Think that's already been done?


PCP is still in my opinion the catchiest name, but i would prefer to stay true to our roots.

 And i'm against removing coin from the name. When people see 'Preminecoin' in a facebook or twitter post, they automatically know its a cryptocurrency. When people see PremiumPlus or PreminePlus they will have to do a rather difficult google search, and likely think we are talking about a gas or mining company or something.
Adding Coin to the end of a word is synonymous with Cryptocurreny.
Go try and google the cryptocurrency 'globe', 'CNote', 'bones', '1credit', etc. without knowing its a cryptocurrency to begin with and see what comes up.

Premine, Premium, Plus, etc. are all to generic of words to be used in a title without coin at the end.

PremineCoin would instantly become a semi well known standard.

PMC2 is good because we stay with original ticker name, bad because we don't want "coin" in our name and bad because we will always be remembered as a rehash or second attempt of something.

PMP is good because it removes the coin abbreviation and it can be spelled the same in both directions. Also good because it doesn't forever shackle us to the memory of failure.

I am now leaning towards PMP, if anyone has any final input,  lets hear it.

have you tried.... CPU mining to get those transactions through?

I liked PMC+ and I like PMC2, I don't think changing the core name is a good idea.  Think about it like this, there is Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero...etc but always Coke.  Branding is important.  I mean who wants to drink a rum and Flop??

Yes, we are switching it up... I am also stuck @ block 172949...  I think it is 'fine' but we will need some hashrate back to liquidate the coins..

Allthough I agree with removing Coin from the name. I'm not as thrilled with moving away from the PMC name.

PMC2 has my vote, says it's still Premine...only better!   Everyone knows these are coins, no reason to have that in the name.

I agree PreminePlus sounds much better than PremineCoinPlus. We should get rid of coin.

But in that case PCP doesn't make sense, or anything with a 'C' on it (even PMC2).

If we're using PCP or PMC2, then we can't remove coin from the name.

My vote is for PMP.


Regarding block 172949, it was generated over 4 hours ago and it's the last one.
I see our hashrate is below 1Gh/s now (down from 21Gh/s 1 week ago).

Personally, I'd prefer PMP and agree on getting rid of the "coin" aspect. Just my 2 cents.

I don't like the "coin" connotation. I feel like it cheapens crypto currencies by linking it to an outdated method of transaction.

I think PreminePlus sounds better than PremineCoinPlus.

My 2 cents on that one.

So it seems we have more love for PCP than PMP.

PMC2 is nice as well.

So lets do this, PCP or PMC2

edit: I think PMC2 does more justice to the original project. PCP sounds like a completely unrelated currency.
