Awesome to see the infamous Cast XMR is now supporting XHV and CryptoNight heavy!

http://www.gandalph3000.com/cast_xmr/cast-xmr-cryptonight-miner-for-rx-vega-update/
I would not recommend to use CastXMR, use every other miner except this one. It is not open sourced and also it is not as trutable as Doktor83 with his SRBMiner.
Also ESET keeps block this web for me some something shady is there.
You better stick with classics like XMR-STAK (also our port XMR-AEON-STAK it is open sourced too on Github), XMRig and the new SRBMiner.

As many other users that can be find posting on Bitcointalk, I have been running Cast miner for 5/6 months without any issues. Or at least no more than while using Stak.
My rigs have been working fine running Cast, did not get any virus or malaware. Performance and reliability have generally been superior than using STAK, not mentioning Cast is a lot easier to configure.
The software is updated regularly and the dev respond to questions on its forum topic here at Bitcointalk.

Yesterday the dev of Cast released a new version 9.05, that works with Cryptonight Heavy,
It has, at least on my case and a few other users, some minor issues while using Vegas GPU, but run flawlessly at +900Hs on RX580 cards. Normally the dev of Cast sort issues out  within few days, I would be surprised if it will not be the case also this time around.

I have problems connecting to haven.miner.rocks:7777. I get error message: SOCKET ERROR: Login error: invalid adress used.
As you likely copied and pasted your wallet on the config file, there could have been an hidden unicode character, in my case was a "?" before the first letter of the wallet, which was not visible on the text editor, but was visible on the miner.
I then deleted the "space" before the wallet and when I restarted the miner the error disappeared.
At least that was the problem that generated my socket error.

i have xmrig . the last one .  miner close with my settings .  i put cryptonight heavy .     do i have to suppress the line     : variant  ?
i have 2 threads for each vega 56   intensity 1932  .      is that wrong for heavy ?    thanks

`variant` - leave it as it is, it is ignored for `heavy`.
i used default settings for intensity for xmrig, do not know best value.
for srbminer and vega56 - the most i can get is "double-threads": true, and "intensity": 60

Sincerely yours,

This looks like a real cool project, and it motivated me to write my first medium article after having contemplated that for a while;

Hey,

I guess this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find an answer, so I'll ask it again:

Do you have any idea how to determine the fiat value of one XHV at a certain point in time?

Is there any place where I can read up on it(The whitepaper isn't really helpful in that regard)?

Thanks in advance.

the fiat value is calculated very easy
now XHV is listed on tradeogre.com/exchange/BTC-XHV but the devs are doing all to be listed on some other exchange too
so, here You can see the price in BTC & easily convert BTC to any fiat You most like

I was refering to the offshore part, maybe that was not completely clear.

This part, the one where you have to find consensus in the network about the fiat value at a point in time is far from trivial, especially with multiple exchanges, listings, delistings, fluctuating value of the Dollar and so on. This is what is known as the oracle problem. What I would like to know is whether there is information available about how the devs want to tackle this task.

now mining with claymore 11.3 impossible?
Yes, it's impossible.

Algo was updated to cryptonight-heavy

Supported miner agents:
1) SRBMiner, gives best hashrate, use "cryptonight_type" : "heavy", try "double_threads" : true, for better results.
2) xmr-stak-haven, use "currency": "haven", can give best hashrate when tuned.
3) xmrig 2.6.0+, use "algo": "cryptonight-heavy"

none of the xmr-stak shared here is working  Embarrassed, can you share a tested one please?
What problem do you have? Guys here only share positive results after the Haven fix for our XMR-STAK 2.4.3
https://github.com/IndeedMiners/xmr-aeon-stak/releases
There will be new release soon because of IPBC and Graft POW changes.

crashing the machine, causing a reboot. I mine the other coins w/o any issue.

Never mined cr + hv, is there a special config?

Using 1932 intensity commonly, I lowered the intensity to 1000 with AMD Vega 64s, no chance.

So on March 9th you said:

UPDATE 2018/03/09
Voting is ticking along nicely - however, it has been raised that it would be nice to be able to have an 'escrow' voting donation wallet.
BTC sent to the wallet below is controlled by the Haven team and will be returned if for some ungodly reason we don't make it into the top 3 in the next couple of weeks.

It's been 5 weeks ... what's the status on new exchange listings?

Haven will be listed on Southex.....1 to 3 weeks. Voting has got it through. Follow their discord. More news in there.

I have problems connecting to haven.miner.rocks:7777. I get error message: SOCKET ERROR: Login error: invalid adress used.
try using xmr 2.4.3 miner  https://github.com/IndeedMiners/xmr-aeon-stak/releases/tag/2.4.3

yes i used 2.4.3 and still login error. I try on haven.ingest.cryptoknight.cc:5533 still same error. But if i moved on another coin aswell forked like stellite and i configure the xmr 2.4.3 it works just fine. I have this problem only on haven. Dont get it...
It is probably not a problem of our miner. Make sure you use the right wallet. The error pretty much says that you use wrong wallet. Not all pools support static diff, worker id or payment id in the address. Also don't forget to change coin (algo) in the pool config.
