Quark 0.9.2.3

There was a fork between clients running Quark 0.8 and those running Quark 0.9.

This was caused by a change in the the way the median block time is calculated between Bitcoin Core 0.8 and Bitcoin Core 0.9.
This caused 0.8 clients to reject blocks that the 0.9 client accepted.

The 0.9 clients have been updated to calculate median block time in the same way the 0.8 clients does.

Please update to the 0.9.2.3 client as soon as possible, especially if you are on 0.9.2.1 or 0.9.2.2.

After upgrading, run your wallet with the -reindex option, e.g.

quarkd -reindex
quark-qt -reindex

Quark 0.9.2.2

* Checkpoint added
* Github updated with patches for backward incompatibility in OpenSSL 1.0.1k/l.
* Windows version built using OpenSSL 1.0.1j until Bitcoin Core finalises its changes for OpenSSL 1.0.1k/l.

You might have to run your wallet with the -reindex option the first time after upgrading to ensure you are on the correct chain.

Dev should update official wallets.

Can malicious nodes get the private keys?
sad...
but on a positive note could be a happy moment when crypto currencies adoption is so widespread that the vast majority of its users don't know how the engine works, don't even know how to open the bonnet or worst analogy in the above case don't even know where's the engine.

if you are having difficulty post Add nodes treat Nodes forwarded by Qmak as suspicious:

http://www.reddit.com/r/QuarkCoin/comments/2sjakx/no_block_source_available/

likely they have taken down the Quark integrated node and are trying to get you to connect to their nodes

Ignore these nodes if you can, treat them as suspicious and post nodes here.

likely this is just a section of the Quark network under attack.

list nodes - how to basics:

yeah seems like the network is under attack Yawn that's normal as the Bitcoin donkey has all but gone over the cliff so that's normal to be expected.

give feedback if you are having issues.

Quark keeps equalizing as Bitcoin drops very good sign of a real market and real buyers and seller - it's got to hurt the spammers and disinfo guys - all that work and sweat ?

http://bravenewcoin.com/price/price-index/#index

basically when the VC crash the "east" will own a lot of the quality of crypto out there -

expect many "western" and fake exchanges to go up or blow away with the dust..

so be careful only hold immediate trades on exchange..

if you want to be a part of the human transition period to a multi polar earth then quality crypto will be a part of that, most will be "eastern" based.

So I felt a rush of blood just now and thought hey, it's 2015, let's look at alts again! Went to cryptsy, bought some quark, and tried sending to the android wallet.. Can't confirm it works yet, unlike DOGE and LTC, they worked quickly but what's up here?

Sure sure, what was the price he asked for...hm...from the top of my head...it was equal to a year salary; 40 or 50.000 dollars Cheesy

That is a complete fabrication. I have never asked to get paid to work on Quark.

ignore them Max - as it becomes clearer that Quark is one of the only real crypto you have the credit for this code you are a part of this history now.

most of these guys are just mumbling disinfo agents,  they haven't even bothered to make new users ?

they are certainly nervous with the "new" Bitcoin price in fiat, however it won't be until around $150 that volatility will pick up.

They "fund" most of this from the "good will" of misinformed Bitcoin buyers.

i heard you are dev of many other coins? can you confirm this?

From who did you hear this? and which other coins Max created according to you?

I think Max will never tell or confirm he created more coins, because the accountname Max doesn't want to be correlated with other coins except Quark.
I hope you are aware that "Max" is just a fictional name Wink.
But it is indeed true that the creator of Quark is involved in the creation of more coins. The coins I think he is at least involved with:

Myriadcoin: http://www.reddit.com/r/QuarkCoin/comments/2nmk98/have_we_been_scammed/cn08ove
mimiccoin/b9: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9007804
Zeta: https://github.com/llamasoft/securecoin-vanitygen/pull/1/commits (Max authored for Zeta? also if you look to the distribution model of Zeta, that is exactly the same as Quark (first 6 months all zeta was mined, thereafter you have 1% inflation per year)

Btw  I always thought that Zeta was created by Adam, because Adam is dominant present in the Zeta thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2871862

There are some connections between Max and other developers:

Myriad and Quark are also correlated with the developer  "Hazard":
http://cryptolife.net/myriad-opportunities/
http://cryptolife.net/quark-is-it-worth-buying/

mimiccoin/b9 is created by Max in cooperation with the developer Adam (aka shake).
Adam was involved with Quark from November 2013-October 2014.
