Hire me! Spanish translator and community manager!
Can't wait for main net, is going to be a really good coin, when everything is dumping, btc etc, people will park their money here in QRL because is a safe heaven quantum computing free blockchain.

Maybe I missed, but on the first page there is no info.
Is current network testnet or real one?

Testnet. Mainnet launch target = January 2018.

Currently traded as an ERC20 token traded 1:1 for mainnet.

Thank you very much for your information! Unfortunately there was just a short pump a few days ago and now its dipping again Sad Was there a reason behind that? It wasnt because of the mainnet target timeline i assume

Fat fingers are starting to find out about QRL. Look at the lenght of those daily candles. This is just the beginning.

Still very much under the radar. Puny 58 Million $ market cap in this 280 Billion $ market.

Does it make sense to you that the only truly quantum resistant crypto ledger has only 0,02% market share of the total market?

This soon to be live natively quantum resistant crypto platform the safe heaven for all crypto holding?

Hey WilderX, do you have any confirmation from Roger on his accumulation? Or if you have known information for the recent jump from dev or someone else?

Just wanted to understand the background of jump n curious what news I have missed

No we are not friends and I doubt he would tell much anyone anyway how much he buys. I only messaged him few days prior to pump as he seemed to be on the market for new investments.

To which line do you think QRL will consolidate after this nice pump the last days???

QRL is the one, going cheap currently.

That's true, probably going to be a few more months until mainnet IMO but when that happens these prices will never be seen again.

It's only a matter of time for QRL, 2018 will bring good things for the project.

agreed, for now its best to gather as much as possible and hold stock.

Nobody can be certain about where cryptocurrencies are going but I think the type of coins like these are the ones with the most promising future.

Seeing these charts I’m starting to think that selling some of my coins wasn’t the wisest of ideas. I’ll be placing some buy orders shortly. 2018/2019 will see QRL’s rise. Exciting times ahead Smiley

If/when quantum computers are able to break ECC in real time (before the transaction is committed to the blockchain) that will be a real problem.

I believe for BTC the public key is vulnerable as soon as the adress has been used once. So for a BTC address to be safe for quantum attack, it has to be unused. Ever.

The public key is not exposed when bitcoin is deposited in an address - an address from which nothing has been spent is secure. The danger is in spending twice from the same address - the public key is exposed when you spend the first time, and the attacker has much time to try to derive the private key. Address reuse is already considered very bad practice for this reason. So it just isn't so that every address in the blockchain is vulnerable to quantum computers. Just those that have already exposed their public key.

No problem Ebenezar64. It took my quite some time to figure it out myself. I think it's important to share.
Also I feel the best way to test my own point of view, is to try to explain it to others who have critical questions. It forces me to really go more in depth. I mean, I've got money on this so, better dubble check myself right?  Wink
By the way, check out the QRL discord channel. The QRL team is most active there.

Yes, the team is very active! I have high hopes in this project, the team is solid and the product they are working on is excellent!! Wait for mainnet and then moon!

But the bitcoin blockchain does not store the actual public key - it stores a hash of the public key, and going from that to the actual public key is close to impossible, even for a quantum computer.

The real public key is exposed during a transaction. This is the vulnerable point.

Or so I understand it.

Thanks Dezeyay for taking the time and explaining everything so thoroughly. I understand what said at first and figured that the ones that don't update will have to siut themselves.

But you are right, the losses of these coins for some owners would indeed impact the value of the coin and FUD could cause irreprebable damage. Another good point you brought up is all the "locked" coins that exist for BitCOin, Ethereum, etc... Where people have started to mine and then quit or people who lsot their key, people who jsut had so little they just ignored them. All these coins could (after quantum computing) become accesable and suddenly someone could gather up all these coins for themselves which in total is a prettly large amount I imagine.

These are points I didn't think about and that will be very hard issues to solve for an existing crypto that doesn't directly start on a qunatum resistant ledger. This amkes me even more interested in QRL and it's future.

Thanks again for going over this so clearly, not many would have written so thoroughly on the subject and heling us understand the value of QRL.

'the losses of these coins for some owners would indeed impact the value of the coin'

This sort of problem gets overlooked, Ebenezar: 'No man is an island.' Several years ago, I devved on a coin that suffered hacks -- about a year apart -- on two of its exchanges, on which significant bodies of coin were held. It took the community/price quite a while to recover.
