Perhaps a creative way to get listed on a centralised exchange is for a mining pool to set aside a portion of their 'fee' to be used as a fundraiser for a particular exchange? And for users to also have the choice to donate to this fund (in case they aren't miners)?

Even if it is just 0.5% of their mining pool fee, it could get enough momentum to get on some mid sized exchanges. Would also be a win for the mining pool to attract new miners, who want to help build ravencoin while doing something they would be doing anyway (that is, mining).

It would need to have transparency behind it, where people can independently verify that the pool fee is going to a fund, which will be used for a specific exchange who has publicly agreed to list Ravencoin once the relevant funds are raised.

Just a thought Smiley

That is actually a great idea ...

We would be happy to do so for our new Pyroxene (theMINE) platform for RavenCoin (http://pyroxene.chainworksindustries.com/).

We need to maintain our 0.7% for the pool, but if we up the percentage, anything over and above the 0.7% fee will be put aside in a unique RVN cold wallet, and when and agreed amount is reached, we can trade them off for the amount required for the inclusion into another exchange. Our pools are new and on new servers, so we would need a number of miners moving in to do such a thing, but we will keep that wallet as a 'CWI Community Wallet' which cannot be touched for any other use.

Let us know if anyone would be behind this method and if so, we could start it as immediately as community consensus allows.

Great! I'm glad you like the idea.

Even if you made your pool fee 1%, you could have 0.7% pool fee and 0.3% to fund an exchange. 1% total pool fee is comparable to suprnova so that should be a good sweet spot. Also with a 'tracker' of how close we are would help get the community on board.

There would need to be an exchange mostly lined up so miners know that the funds are going towards an exchange they'll actually use. I know the going rate on larger exchanges is quite high, so you could also consider new upcoming exchanges, depending on community consensus. For example, I think there is potential in trade.io platform which is expected to release this month.

I only have a small 6gpu mining rig, but would be happy to point it at your pool if you go down this path Smiley

People you've forgot to buy RVN! Everything in my portfolio went up except RVN. Being listed only in crypto-bridge probably isn't helping much. Although it's a great decentralised exchanged, it's just ONE exchange.

I'm against paying centralised exchanges to get listed though, those funds could better be used for marking and development. If whatever exchange wants to get fees from RVN traders, then let them list it for free.

Cryptobridge isn't bad. I've always seen coins grow from that exchange. Moon after new exchanges.

I agree cryptobridge is fine. But there were some concerns that there aren't enough trading platforms for ravencoin, which means if something happens to cryptobridge, we're kind of stuck. Also new exchanges means new audiences so there is that too.

I tried Cryptobridge (web version) for the first time last night. Made 2 transfers of BTC from Coinbase, 2 separate buys of a thousand RVN and transferred each of those balances to my Raven Core wallet with no issues. I like it.  Smiley

Great video presentation with Q&A from Bruce Fenton here:

Seems like a no-nonsense, straight shooting kind of guy.

When you try to replace wallet.dat, the purse launches after it launches, and creates its new one. It turns out to restore the wallet is not possible. I ask for help, what is the problem. Thank you. Google translator

Problem with virtopia is the "% share rewarded for smaller miner. I cant say how or if its any different than larger pool and just finding more blocks..
Example with 2 cards at Virtopia getting 1.4-1.6 rv per block found (every 1-7hrs) vs multiple blocks getting 1.9-5.7 rv per hr, its not even the same playing field.
Im getting 4-7x more elsewhere with just 2 cards.. My payout in 2 days was more than 1 week there (even with the luck last week).

This is what I've been wondering about. I think me and my two gtx 1060s will stick with good old, reliable Suprnova... for now. Undecided

Is it to much of a stretch to think that the Ravencoin blockchain could be used to release security tokens on it? There is a big connection between Patrick Byrne, Bruce Fenton, Trevor Koverko, plus tZero and Box. All intertwined and working together. Imagine when Polymath releases its security ST-20 tokens. Since Polymath itself is a ERC-20 token it would need somewhere to place its security tokens. Wouldn't it make sense to park the security tokens on the Ravencoin network? Thus giving Ravencoin the purpose everybody is looking for and and giving security tokens the jump start they need with a reliable network?

We also HODL all RVN we got mined.
Not to have any $ in the future if the price will probably increase -> No! - we wan't to have the RVN in the future, because it is a very nice project which is hopefully successful.  Grin

Virtopia is back to 'Killing the Game'
At my hash, I was estimated to earn 1,700 today, and so far (with 6 hours to yet today) I've got 1,948 dropped into my wallet.
And there is still another block pending... going to be another big payout day on Virtopia!
