It just surprises me that raven can increase so much on literally zero news.
I mean, I get it if there is a new product or improvement or whatever, but on no news?
Something must be going on behind the scenes that we don't know about - and presumably it is very positive. I wonder what it is though.

I did see a few posts on Brian Armstrongs twitter when he asked about new coins and Raven was mentioned a few times. Not by him by the way, and also not in a pushey way either like some of the others that were posting.

All the trolls were getting to me. I started off being nice to them then a got nasty so it was time to have a break.
Glad the pump has given you some returns hope you've taken some profits and not gone mad in the corner growing a long beard mumbling "ravencoin, ravencoin, ravencoin...".

Now the test, as prices come off the highs. I've been mining, trading and holding RVN. Just added a few birds to my flock, hoping to trade them out on a rebound off these prices. Time will tell.

Hm... yes ok cool story. I'm pretty sure the real reason is FOMO and maybe a little manipulation by whales here and there. This char is definitely not normal.
It reminds me of the difficulty chart when Ravencoin had first launched... 10 times up, then 10 times down! Come on... what happened to the HODL ?

Unless they're announcing that Overstock will be sold on the Ravencoin blockchain to anonymous investors, I don't think this price will hold very much longer.
I thought that they could use RVN on tZero like coin for doing IEO-s.I'm sure they will. This was the assumption that got RVN it's 300 satoshi value. Maintaining the recent highs would have needed an announcement along the lines of, 'We are going to list Overstock shares for sale on tZero using Ravencoin's blockchain and will be paying out future dividends in RVN'. I do not believe this will happen anytime soon, so it's buckle up your seatbelts and hope that the price holds in the 600 satoshi range once this correction comes to fruition.
I would not enter at such high price levels. Despite the fact that they promise in developing a price above 1300 satoshi is still speculation. Considering that before there were generally 250-300 sat.
That's when the price is slightly adjusted then we can buy a little.

Just changed my windows client of Ravencoin wallet and thought necessary to share my experience. It is amazingly fast ho quickly blockchain syncs in matter of minutes. I didn't see something this quick before this will be helpful to many people those are coming now or will join later to sync whole chain within shortest possible time.
Nice one thanks. I was still on the first wallet after the Assets were added. I am 14 weeks behind. Estimate was 3 days to sync. The new wallet (I believe with assets indexing disabled by default) is now estimating 73 minutes. That is a bit better. Pays to spend time in the community to pick up these hints.

The main thing is that while we make money buying at the lower price and selling at the top price. I am sure that 90% of users and even no longer interested in the technology itself, but only profit in trade or mining.
Those interested in the tech were buying in the 300 sats range. At over 1300 sats, this coin is priced like a much more established chain. Many of the pumpers probably don't understand the market cap is artificially depressed due to the massive amount of coins that are still to be mined. It will be difficult for the market to continue to support the current high dollar value of coins created per day.
RVN is kinda inflatory, but every day inflation relatively decreases. We are at cca 3 178 000 RVN minted, and 7 400 000 new RVN added every day, it means 0.23% "daily inflation", which is not that bad. If price decreases by this speed, nothing bad is going to happen. It used to be worse, when we were at half of the minted coins or even worse.. then new coins hitting market every day really depressed the price, but I think price and volume is so high right now that it absorbs new coins like nothing.
But it doesnt change anything on my opinion that price spike is mostly FOMO right now. Probably will cool down in 1-2 weeks and then we will see some decrease and when new features are added, another moon

I was wanting to add RVN to my investment portfolio, but what was the reason for this high price? rumors ? Any new partners?
Some big guys involved and a promising road map as far as I know. Has been a sleeper for a while and there could also be things behind the scenes we don't know yet. Could also be a pump with not too many substantial news.

That makes sense in few years let's say after next halving of Bitcoin whole market will be up than now. Ravencoin's today's price will seem more attractive then. This is what happens always when it comes to buy you always see it expensive. But early birds get the best or worse in anything whether this market or anything else.

But, if you are mining with a single GPU, then yes, it will take time to accumulate ANY coin.
Raven's network is now over 14.5 TH/s. That's awesome for the coin's value - Bigger community, higher coin prices, better for the future. Remember, Crpto is better when there are more of us.
So, don't blame Raven for your piddle, little single GPU mining.
Miners (including myself) who have been with RVN for months (or like me, since Feb 2018) are being rewarded with this price move. And even at this Diff, new mining continues to be rewarded.
And yes prices will fluctuate, but this has been one health and welcome move.

I remember the time that with my 320 Mh/h ( obviously not 1 GPU) makes 2400 RVN per 24h.So should I happy with 185 or 200 RVN per 24h.I'm not. Write your system Pigeon , just for compare. And I remember the days I could be making 0.5 ETH per day with my gaming PC but I was like "nah... for 1€ per 24 hours I won't bother with this cryptocurrency-thing. I wouldn't even leave my PC mining for 24h because I would like to play games too".
I would be rich now if I did but whatever!
If I had the same PC now (a 1070), it would make like 0.0025 ETH per day... but that's normal. If it would still be making 0.5 ETH per day then ETH wouldn't have the price it has today because there'd be too many coins.
So if you're mining RVN since when it started (like I proudly did... those slow difficulty updates were fun times!) you should be glad it's not easy to mine nowadays. Unless you've been dumping daily whatever you were mining, in which case I feel sorry for you.
