I have a similar amount that has been off the exchanges since day 1, sitting in my wallet staking and sending to people as twitter giveaways.

if you have open sell orders you are actively suppressing the price whether it is your intention or not, by keeping ur funds off the exchanges not only will u get interest u won't be tempted to place sell orders to suppress the price
as for the dump, my best guess is it was a very bad attempt by a 'whale' trying to cause a panic sell and shakeout ppl like us with lots of pinkcoin.
