RSK is a sidechain secured by the bitcoin network, it is a smartchain that supports smart contracts unlike bitcoin. One small snippet I'll paste below expands a bit more on the usability and capabilities of the smarcontracts built on RSK, here:

The RSK network is highly compatible with the Ethereum network at various different layers: the execution virtual machine (EVM), the javascript programming interface (web3), node interprocess connectivity (JSON-RPC), and the smart-contract programming languages (Solidity).
RSKVM is highly compatible with the EVM, but the RSKVM offers additional features not present in the EVM. To make use of these improvements, some changes to the smart contract source code are required. Furthermore, the RSKVM has specific precompiled contracts that provide the bridging functionality with Bitcoin. Approximately once a year, the Ethereum community performs a hard-fork to add new functionality. The RSK community has, in the past, incorporated these changes through corresponding hard forks on the RSK network. These trends are expected to continue in the future.

Definite dates are not really easy to determine, however, all of our partners that have integrated with us can be found on this site: https://www.rsk.co/partners/

Notable examples are DexFreight, Oak, 88insurance, and more! We also have launched great implementations ourselves like the RIF Lumino Network that launched back in May, the RNS (Rif Name Service), all the listing on exchanges that have gone through since January that RIF was launched (you can see them all here: https://www.rifos.org/rif-token/), RIF itself launched just under a year ago.

More and more teams keep joining / collaborating, in time, we'll see even more and more uses as we continue to work on improving.
