After a quick look into the source... It seems PoS got disabled on purpose... The good thing is, it is easy to implement this whenever the time is right The basis is already there.. Smart choice crunk   Wink

Indeed it looks simple dosn't it a 1 to 0  and that should have been that but its not working I suspect I forgot something stupid when I did it , however I am right this second compiling a new node with a few tweaks that I hope will solve the issue Smiley

I know it has been asked in the past, but has anymore thought been put into SANDG going PoS staking yet?

If you look back like 15 posts you will see that it's being discussed by the community.  Read up, and provide
your input.  You're the community too.

HI,

I know it has been asked in the past, but has anymore thought been put into SANDG going PoS staking yet? I hold a small bag ( I did give-away quite a bit to raise interest) and have been watching the exchanges. SANDG is going up and I would prefer to hold, but if staking isn't going to be available in the near future...well...I really have to decide whether to hold or sell, while the market is good. Some 'words of wisdom' would really come in handy, right now.

Well I would hold considering the marketcap is only a couple bitcoin... There is lots of potential whether we are pos or not but I think all these things are being discussed with the future of the coin possibly a hybrid?

So let me just double check that I got this straight what you are doing with this coin is investing into POS coins then selling the POS rewards and buying SANDG with the profits? Is that kind of the idea?

Nearly

SandG invest in POS coins, then when they stake, 75% of the stake gets sent to an exchange the other 25% stays where it is, and increases our holding in that particular coin and thus raises our balance and increases our stake times and income.

The 75% gets sold at the going rate at the time it arrives on the exchange ( although sometimes I may wait if I can see the price is about to rise) the proceeds from the sell order then gets used to buy SandG at the going rate.

So in short our holdings rise every time we stake by 25% of that stake, the market for SandG gets moved by the 75% sent to the exchange.
Ahhhh gotcha Wink Well that doesn't sound too bad.  How can investors check what coins are currently being staked and what not? Or is there a way for people to see that kind of thing?

Look at the first post, that shows what we hold, how much we started with, and how much we have sent to the exchange, and our current amount.
Cool will do thanks again for clarifying all that for me mate Wink

I love the concept of the two coins being able to swap back and forth.
Keeping 1 POS and 1 POW. I also think full potential of the portfolio concept
will be recognized and lead to much higher SandG demand and prices.

So is this coin going to switch to a POS type coin? Or is it going to remain POW? I think switching to POW/POS would help draw more people towards the coin and generate more interest Smiley Cheers

SandG will never switch to a pure POS coin it will remain POW, that being said people here would like the POS option added, which is fine.

To be honest I would rather keep SandG mining only, but I also listen to what others want, I have tried to get the POS working on SandG and for the life of me can see no reason why it wont work.
I have spoke to presstab about it, but his rates arn't cheap ( not they arnt worth it, because he is a star when it comes to POS ), and while I don't mind investing in the coin of coarse I would rather not if it can be helped, I have taken nothing from this project yet, only given starting balances to the staking coins, but others have also been extremely generous and have donated all sorts of coins.

The coin is growing for sure and we are staking more and more each week, which is encouraging, and of coarse our holdings are growing at the same time.

CAID is a pure POS coin that stakes 60% per year and stakes rather well I have to say, so my thinking at the moment is to offer people swaps both ways SandG to CAID and CAID to SandG, I could even set up a website that will do it automatically.

But of coarse I shall do nothing unless others agree, but it would be nice I think to have two coins linked by a swap but one for the miners and one for the stakers, people could chose what side of the track they wanted to be, and can move around and they choose, I also think by offering this sort of choice/option it would increase the price of both.

SandG would stay exactly the same, and concentrate on staking other POS coins, and CAID would continue to do what it does, I have purchases some shop software to use with CAID which would allow it to be taken as currency etc so that coin will start moving shortly.

But as said, all this is just my thoughts being put out in the open, to either be shot down or talked about, I have never done anything with out a community consensus and am not about to start doing the opposite now...

Cheers

I am in both coins so it would help me if you could add a little clarity to your thoughts
as to why you would merge: 1 coin to promote/websit/block explorer/etc.?
More caid to use at store? I don't see the value of a partial swap? \
What happen with the SandG portfolio?

The reverse split of 30-1 for Caid makes sense since there is 30+ x more coins.
Suggest as part of the swap, the SandG coins from portfolio buy backs be used for promotion of coin
or paying development costs for POS wallet if you can get a POS dev that will accept Caid/SandG.
Don't like the faucetts as they just get dumped at lowest buy.

Thank you!

Yes, I like the idea to link the 2 coins as well. If it's swap-able in both directions and at a fixed conversion rate (like 1 SanG to 30 CAID as the prices above suggest) we'll have to find a way to do it automatic though, because if not there's the danger you'll drown in swapping requests if market prices allow some profit. Best case would be if it could be done in wallet, not to forget a little fee (perhaps added to the block reward) again to dampen swapping action a bit if one coin is a little above the other on an exchange.

Still no good ideas here what to do with the bought up SandG. OK, if CAID can be swapped for SandG it doesn't hurt if there are quite a few coins available for this. Else I just noticed potential trouble if too many coins are given out for free or bonus. It could lead to people trying to grab as many coins as possible, sell them to the buy program, repeat circle thingy.

If you want to do a casino the bought coins could be given out as bonus, perhaps based on betting volume in some way. If volume is low that would mean the bonus could be larger than the house edge, giving incentive to play. If volume is high the 'what to do with the coins'-problem would be back, just with the earned coins of casino this time.

If nothing else comes up there is the burning of course. At least this would do the price some good, if they get linked for both coins even. It wouldn't kill the coin through draining its supply in this case, as long as there's a decent PoW reward for SandG and that big PoS reward for CAID, and perhaps a smaller one for SandG as well, through which fresh coins flow into the system.

Its either sat in my wallet, still on the exchanges, or in the IRC tip bot.

I'm open to ideas on what to do with it all.

1 weekend. Las Vegas. Blow and more blow. Get reeeeeeeeeeekkd

Those kinds of ideas?
Depends if you can point out an airline, hotel and so on (or travel agency offering the whole thing) that can be persuaded to accept SandG. Cheesy

Yeah that would be pretty crazy.

But in all seriousness what should or do people want me to do with them ?

I'm also still having issues with the POS on this coin, can any one think of a clever, and acceptable way for me to combine my coins? CAID stakes like a charm, I'm just wondering if we do a partial swap, so people that want to can exchange SandG into CAID etc

Just a thought I'm toying with at present.

Open to all your thoughts be they negative or positive

I am always down for growing the community Smiley

Also for staking coins we can either burn them or use the money for crypto related issuse.. new wallet pos ect

The coins values are pretty similar we could pretty much go 1-1 either way

Hmm

CAID is currently on 2sats http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/coinaid/
SandG is currently on 61sats http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/save-and-gain/

Sorry I mean marketcap related

$571-coinaid
$507- sandg

Indeed Smiley

I think it could be a good move for both coins, but I will see what others say, and what ways they come up with to implement it.
