Despite now being at my office, I will take what free moments I have to start posting my ideas.

First:
Arteleis, do you have admin privileges on this thread?
We need to sticky the Trello board link at the top of each page, which can be done by spoofing it as a survey.
Trello is a fantastic organizational platform and will be key to us making real progress.

https://trello.com/b/YfCUpW9h/silk-coin-rebuilding

Also, I suggest you remove the lamp & treasure wallpaper -- it's blingy, but in my opinion is amateurish and distracting. I think a washed version of the camel graphic would be optimal. I can provide a Photoshop'ed version tonight if you let me know the correct resolution.

Hello SilkCoin Community,

My name is Benjamin Koslik.
I live in Toronto, Canada.
I'm a significant SilkCoin stakeholder, and have been steadily buying, including as recently as this morning.
I'm typically a sidelines investor, but have been inspired to come on board here to offer my expertise.
Yes, I registered for BCT specifically to join this team.
SilkCoin deserves to succeed. From the hard work and passion I see here, with people like Arteleis leading, it will succeed.

I'm here to help.

I have a job and need to leave for it right now.
But I will be back this evening and have a ton of ideas for how we can streamline and turbocharge SilkCoin's rebirth.

I also have a block of SilkCoin to donate for bounties, totalling 60,000 SC. This will be discussed tonight.

Enjoy the day, be excited about our future!

Ben

Just took a look at bholzer's profile. He hasn't been online on the forums for two days. If anyone can contact him outside this board, it would be a good idea to let him know of the current status.

Sounds good but he does not put anything here for a long time, I think he could get at least a 2 minutes and keep the community updated

I agree.  It takes two seconds to reply to a thread, no excuses.  He's not interested in helping SC anymore and I can't really blame him since Murraycoin has been a great success.  It's a shame he didn't have more class to at least reply to a PM or a post a message to let the community know.

arteleis, I say start a new thread.  If he decides to come back, he can message us there.  Now about these devs you have:

1.) How many of them are there?
2.) Are they on the forum or trello (do not need to be identified at this time)?
3.) What kind/amount of compensation do they want?
4.) How do you know them?
5.) What's their programming background?

Before we start panicking that bholzer has abandoned us, please notice that in his last post to the MurryCoin thread, he stated:

Quote
I have some commitments I have made to some other coin communities that will keep me somewhat occupied throughout the remainder of the week; I will begin another push here this weekend to get Murraycoin back on track.

This combined with the fact he has not been around for a few days indicates to me that he is indeed working on SilkCoin, and plans to be finished Friday.

Instead of panic selling, this would be a good chance to buy some cheap SilkCoin, because as soon as Bholzer comes back with what he has been working on, we will see a nice jump in price.

I think if bholzer is no longer on the boat only makes clear that to seek a new dev

Yep, and as I mentioned.  There are interested devs.  And an entire team.  All holding on Bholzer.

It was my suggestion to wait until the end of the week, but panic is starting it seems.

Perhaps we wait until the end of the day and if there is no response, then begin the trek onwards.

And for the record, I've been messaging bholzer from the time I started the trello board and have had no response.  The only responses he has made are on other threads.  I believe anyone from this team of volunteers and donaters are all in the same boat.

If bholzer has contacted ANYONE from the entire silk community please let us know.  Else, it seems clear what the intention is.

Have to have communication or keep moving forward.

This fucking camel is restless.

I agree with you, let's wait until the end of the day and there is no news I think is time to change

Perhaps there is indeed a misunderstanding here. Some of the tasks above (outlined by arteleis) were also bholzer's responsibilities and maybe he felt that someone is stepping on his toes. He has to step up and clarify what his silence stands for.

As I understand it, officially, the community is still awaiting for bholzer's work. The 1.0.9.3 release was a bugfix release so that people could carry on with coin transfers, especially with donations, because bholzer delayed his release.

IMO, we should wait for bholzer for a couple of days. On the other hand, Hanz or anyone else who has the required coding skills and the interest could work on any feature of the wallet he sees fit. Each coder's work can be merged afterwards. This is what distributed VCS exist for.

IMO we should avoid conflict and misunderstandings at any cost.

My 2 cents.

Exactly.

Well i'm more like that i rather take full loss and take the risk and stay than leave with a loss, but I don't really see some improvements regarding the formation of a new dev group.

If you have a new dev group you can start a new ANN relaunch topic and make some new futureplans.

This coin has really potential, but it musn't take to long or else everyone will step out.

Perhaps it is time to make a new thread and move forward.

Well the reason why we made this client 1.0.9.3 and not a new one was of course,

1. To not interfere with any work that bholzer has been working on.

2. Needed for the interim a working client for all platforms.  Which has been achieved.

3. Continue with web development and marketing with a working client.

4. Get the exchanges active again

5. Restore confidence in users who had a shitty wallet that kept crashing.

At this point he has not responded to anyones private messages or on the forum.  If this is not the case then someone point that out.

So.

Does this community move forward without him?  Or weep and cry calling his name with 'why', 'why'??
Bholzer, you are welcome to post here about this.

If me organizing the community that wanted to help into one place and donating personal silk to get a working client going is the reason why you have bailed, then perhaps you had no honor to your intentions here whatsoever.

Personally I'm tired of waiting when progress is at our fingertips.

This coin and community has been through enough already.
We need this chapter closed and another one begun.

This is what SC needs in the short term, someone to step up and lay their cards out.
