I would def. be interested in a Group Buy especially if OgNasty is doing it-- count me in for 10+ depending on price....

price has importance but I would really like to see some good reviews on this item.

paying say 750 usd (I think higher)  sounds pretty good price.  but if the gear does 1500gh and 40 mhs and spends 1100 watts

it is not a good deal.  Minimum 100 order with no recourse for low specs is making me gun shy.

I would suggest a few good demos of the gear are more important then doing a group buy.

A) prisma had fire issues.
B) spondolllies sp20 was a 1200gh good efficiency miner 1400 so so   and 1600 power burner.

C) if these chips scale like the sp20 running them at 1400gh and 40 mhs may be the realistic number.

I would hate for a lot of us buying and hoping for 1700gh and 50mhs and having to settle for a lot less.

remember  gridseeds never did dual mining well.

So I do urge some verified demos reviews etc

Yes yes Dogie need to review.  He no beg over and over like some others......

yeah thats right he should do a review, but if he is the only pre reviewer I won't buy one of these.

I want more then one reviewer.

That was a politically correct way of stating that, I was thinking i would prefer someone that will actually put the miner through some stress testing and not just a bunch of pretty pictures and regurgitating the instruction book--lol

I have seen many bad mining gear.  Under spec slow delivery .  I would hate for a lot of us to buy 100 or 200 in a pre order and not like the gear.

We now have a newbie calling me a beggar.  So I ask why?
If the gear runs well send out some review units. I don't see any posts from the company. I see a puppet dissing me.  Why?

I agree- I would also get in for them if philipma1957 coordinates it  Wink

Also, not a big spender-- i look at it as the same as purchasing 2-3 SP-31 except I didn't and waited -- now I can hopefully end up with more hash power and scrypt to boot

Philip makes a good point. I would probably want a demo unit before I open a group buy for them. will see what they say.

Shot them an email inquiring about these units, and my desire to review one for the forums.

Here's hoping they might be receptive to providing review units for us !

I did that about 12 hours ago.

I am hoping for this to be demoed and reviewed

I sent an email to you at [email protected]  in regards to the SF100

Thank you in advance for reading it.

Well if it makes $8/day now most likely it will be $8 X 60 or 90 days which has been the norm for the last few products.

It will cost between $480 - $720, so likely somewhere in between.

Well I am waiting on an email reply.

None in the last 10 hours.

I would really want to fully test this unit before I commit to a group purchase.

I would hate to see it overpriced and over specced.

The info says it earns 8-9 usd a day mining both coins at current prices.

and it burns close to 950 watts

that is 24 kwatts a day.

if your power is  5 cents  you spend  1.20 usd to run it. that is 9-1.20 = 7.80 usd profit
if your power is 10 cents  you spend 2.40 usd to run it. that is 9-2.40 = 6.60 usd profit
if your power is 15 cents you spend 3.60 usd to run it.  that is 9-3.60 = 5.40 usd profit
if your power is 20 cents you spend 4.80 usd to run it.  that is 9-4.80 = 4.20 usd profit

So if you have 10 cent power  you need  150 days to earn 990 usd

Based on the math above  over 1000 usd is a so so price.
I really do not feel like forking over 1k for this  gear, in my case  a 150 to 180  day break even number.

If you are in Europe and pay 25 cents for power this is very marginal for you.

Yes, I came up with the same math.  That's why I want to see the pricing.  Thanks for sharing Philipma...

They can either price these at a level to allow those who pay as much as 10 cents to ROI in no more than 5 months and sell a lot of them in group buys.  Or have the ROI for 5 months or less aiming at those with less than 5 cents per kWH.  This will be interesting to see how they price them.  It being 28nm chips, they should not be as much as a 16nm or 14nm.

I would love to run a group buy for these units but would only do so with Sfards' blessing.

If you will start a list as soon as pricing comes out, I would appreciate it.  I want to get in on it depending on price.  Also, are you based in the US?

I am in the US.
You can also count me in the group buy. Just hope they don't price these as horribly as they did the Gridseed dual miners with no chance to ROI

All depends on price. I could organize group for Europe people, let say 50 units for me, the rest for others.
But only in case of resonable price. I dont have good experience with previous Gridseed price policy (as G. blade for 3000USD, then soon 1500USD and no compensation etc....)

Looks like we could have some not in-considerable traction on an EU group buy then .... I'll keep my eyes peeled on their pricing (I intimated to them earlier today that I'd be interested in a bulk order but they have not got pricing set yet, was their response). Still a few unkbown unknowns though .... aka we don't even know what permutations of powering the SF100 (assuming it does not have a PSU) are possible, the weight (thus postage) etc thus the effect it'd have on the SF100's roi. But yeah, count me tentatively in too.

Hey, isn't this about the same as an SP20?  (the BTC only side).  Should I be disappointed now with the 1.7TH/s performance like I am with my SP20?  Or pay a whole bunch of money and then be disappointed?      Just asking.

SFARDS
Bitcoin single mining mode:
Hashing power 1700 GHS, power consumption 770W

Spondoolies SP20
1.7 TH/s ± 10%

The SP20, if it could do 1.7 TH/s [Not all can] would use almost twice the wattage as the SF100.  That's if you are just looking at the wattage on the BTC side of the SF100.

While the quoted SP20 rate is 1700GH, it's really more like 1500GH as a regular, predictable, not terribly efficient, and loud miner. While I like the SP20, the advertised rate of 1700GH is more a marketing value, than a practical value.

To be completely fair, we have zero idea what the realities of the SFARD 100 are in terms of sound and reliability, beyond the quoted rate and power value. Until a trustworthy guy here has put one in his home and turned it on, with a Kilo-Watt meter I'll take the quoted figures with a grain of salt.

Do we even know if it requires a power supply, and if so what kind of connection (e.g. PCIE 6-wire)? It's also unclear if the 770W (BTC only) figure is measured "at the wall" or what.

Lot's of questions to answer, and verification to happen.

Looking at the front of the pic, I'm pretty sure that's two PCIe connections per hashing board, I'm guessing it doesn't come with one.

I wonder if it will be possible to tune Scrypt and SHA256 separately?  I'm guessing that it's just based on the frequency of the whole chip, so probably not, but it would be neat if we could crank up the hashrate on the Scrypt side while keeping SHA256 side more power efficient if Scrypt were to be paying better...
