seems i got it working on my azure ubuntu instance

git clone https://github.com/slimcoin/slimcoin.git

sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
sudo apt-get install libdb++-dev libminiupnpc-dev

cd src/
make -f makefile.unix


at least it's compiling now
