Block reward: 1 or 10 (it's just easier for the human brain. it doesn't matter for functionality - it could be 1, 10 or 100)
Block time: 30 (the smaller the better)

Connections to other nodes on other ports are quite normal. They do not disturb because they belong to another networkid. After handshake they should be disappear.
It migth be that I don't got the question at all... :-)

Ok, perhaps quite normal, but unwanted and unsightly.
Can you somehow prevent connections to nodes of other coins?
I have not seen any connections to EXP or SHIFT nodes, only to ETH nodes.

Thanks for the article jjjordan! Fascinating reading even at 2AM. Definitely something to chew over. Hopefully we can specifics on blocktime, block mining rewards, etc in the next few days. Working on an updated OP presently. No sleep for the caffeine fueled....
