You've got 100% rejects, maybe try another pool, just to be sure it's not related to that

Could you try to use BAMT 1.6 on an USB to see if the problem is system related?
The best scenario would be that yo see no drop in Windows 8.1 and a drop in BAMT 1.6
Maybe this weekend I'll try it out, if I have the time to prepare it. Wink

I have this really odd problem with sgminer. (4.0 and 4.1)

I have two identical GPU's. No matter what, the 2nd GPU is slower than the first GPU.....

UNLESS, I am playing a youtube video, and then the 2nd GPU hash rate creeps up and matches the first.

What the heck is going on?

(and yes, for a month or two with sgminer, I have been playing youtube videos on replay lol)

I've been mining sph sgminer on win8 for a few hours now with 1x R9 290 reference model with no such drop in hash & they are not watercooled. Rock steady at 2.41MHs. I'm happy to help if you'd like to know anything about config etc.

My only issue is that the expected Darkcoin per day is abysmal :/  Approx 1.1coins..hardly seems worth it
Same for Hiro:

Gigabyte R9 290 WF3

12 hours mining, no drop in hashrate.
And the profits are acceptable (0.003btc in 12 hours, so 0.006btc in 24 hours, but at a much lower power consumption, wear and tear than the 0.01 Adaptive Nscrypt Spaincoin/Rotocoin).

I assume you also have R9 290?

Comme on, it's a 60 Darkcoin bounty and some other guy propose to put Darkcoin in the pot too.

Yes, I've three rigs with 290s and each suffers from the same problem.

I checked for any option related to sleep mode, dpms, but both are disabled by default in BAMT 1.6 .
Others have the same problem with the windows 7 build of that miners...

This bug is incredible. Near all the 290 miners are stuck with poor hashrate because of that.

For bug-finders:
I have 2 others 290 on windows that did not suffer the bug (except from very rare occasion) but they are watercooled.
Is it possible that the Darkcoin algo make some part of the card too hot, or too something, and that some part of the card are disabled? Again: in scrypt/keccak/Scrypt-jane there is no problem.

The summer is going to be cooler with new algos.  Wink
I really should'nt tell this little secret, but i dont have much hashpower, so i would not loose much...  Cool

Old 5850's and others ati are very good for groestl and myriad groestl/sha256 but here is simple key to get more hashpower:
Downclock the memory to 600/300 Mhz
With downclocked memory you can overclock gpu more than usual.
You can set the the memory freq equal to its idle speed for your videocard, this should work with any Ati/AMD GPU.

Here is sample for 5850(Mem@600, GPU@900 ), groestl gives 10% more Mhashes with this tweak:

Dont forget to monitor your temps  Wink

This might be helpfull for other algos if they do not use memory much.

Could you please add a Adaptive NScrypt kernel as well, please? This version of sgminer does pretty much all algos, only Adaptive Nscrypt missing. Cheesy
Also, question, can I mix different algos for different pools? in the same .bat?
get it from the github link in my sig
no you cant mix algo in one .bat at the moment, i'll look into it when i have time

I don't see the adaptive nscrypt kernel in your github.  Huh

Regarding the multiple kernels in the same bat, is it possible to also have some kind of auto-detect that automatically switches kernel depending on the algo the pool is reporting?  Grin
To use nscript you need to add "algorithm" : "nscrypt" to your .conf or --algorithm nscrypt
See ./doc/configuration.md

- Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC - can't get them above 2,2 Mhash, tried settings for hours
- I also see the 10% drop reported after a while
- Temp and fanspeed are not displayed

I'm reluctant to try Catalyst 14, since it throttles the GPU frequency.

I still can't do more that 500Kh with my 290, so you're lucky ;-)
To disable frequency throttling, try this tool:

http://epixoip.github.io/od6config/

Sounds good, I'll give it a try tonight.
500k is indeed very poor, how comes?

I really don't know: tried all possible settings, asked for help everywere, nothing.
On the same rig a good old 7950 can easily do 3 times more.
I can only think of a driver (fglrx) problem, even though the card is fine mining other algos.

I'm doing Darkcoin since yesterday and I already enjoy the silence and lack of heat mining X11.

Works so far, I've installed it in BAMT/SMOS with fglrx 13.25.5
I stripped BAMT off most services, like the web interface and munin/nagios.
Just left mother running.

But:

VRM temps seem fine:

I wonder if the guys at guru3d would be willing to do a thermal check using their camera for this algo, see if there is any part of that card that overheats. Cheesy

I didn't find obvious reason for this issue.

Why does this happen after a certain time - approx. 10 min ?

My rigs specs - MB Asrock H61 Pro BTC, G1620 2.7, 4Gb DDR3, 4Gb Flash drive, EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 Platinum, BAMT 1.6 OS, Catalyst 13.12 WHQL.

Hello guys, would u mind testing my binarys for sgminer?

I've changed something and merged with the latest sgminer from veox.
Here is the commit message:

This commit is the product of merging veox latest commit (atm 1f7b7ef)…

… with sph-sgminer (atm fe522a6).

Successfully build and tested successfully on:
Quarkcoin (Fully compatible imho),
Animecoin (Fully compatible imho),
Fuguecoin (Fully compatible imho),
Darkcoin (Some problems in calculation BlockDiff and Target as well as sharediff and target imho),
Scrypt is not working at the moment.
I'll still have to check those other coins.
nFactor has to be merged.

Here is the git repo with branch pointed to the merge:
https://github.com/DJstone/sph-sgminer/commits/sph-merge-veox

Here is the Binarys:

NOTE: IT IS STILL NOT STABLE!
