Hello,

I ear that 16nm is gonna be delayed due to Samsung.
What about 20nm technology ?

for technical reasons I believe most are skipping the 20nm stage.

Spondoolies, Beam & DAGlabs
weeks, not days...

i opened my SP30, vacuum wouldnt budge the gunk, too tacky - high humidity.

toothbrush sorted em right out. still no hashing though >frowny face<

bit of a mission to get to the bottom board but why not eh.

has anyone discussed the 'reset button' on the MMC board anywhere?

Most who I have heard of use a recovery SD.   Would be interesting on reset button, not sure what you will get there.

recovery SD is step 1

If MMC board is faulty, boot SD is required

If recovery & boot fail then the board needs replacing as explained by Guy recently (ish)

i just received shipping notification of the ribbons & the SP30 MMC board, no mention of SP20E board...

>500 hours downtime for SP20E & SP30... over 21 days of stalled communications with @support.

Hi Edgar,

I reviewed your ticket and there is no mention of requiring a new board for the SP20E.
Please work with support@ for your issues as that is the only official support channel.

Thanks,

I still want to know how you ran them. What speed/freq. Or was something else causing the defect/damage since you had 2 things burn out at the same time?

nowhere near extreme. around 65-75% of max.

failures occurred during brief power-cut.

the sp30/SP20E were ok with recovery SD the first few times.

SP30 then required boot SD / SP20E never did.

Both failed at the same time - where multiple recovery & boot do Nothing At All.

Me too. I just started mining a few weeks ago, but have Antminers and Spondoolies.

The antminers are more quiet, yes, but the SP's IMO are just ... better. Heck I can reduce the fan to '4' in my office on 2 of them, hashing away at 1100GH/s@580watts and it is not overly loud. About the same as 2 S3's or C1's at full blast.

I have a new S5 coming this week but will probably just sell everything to buy more SP tech.

Now if only I could find a good deal on SP3x or some more cheap SP20's.  Grin

Great to hear!

Hello all...

Just wanted to add a few thoughts.

I'm a small time miner that is running 6 sp20e and 2 sp10's.  I got rid of all my antminers to stick with SP-Tech after the success and ease I experienced with my first SP10.

Lately one of my SP20e's developed a problem that baffled support@SP-Tech enough that Zvi had to get involved.  He spent a good 40 minutes working with me to resolve the problem, with a great attitude and the patience to explain what he was doing at each stage and answering my questions.  I don't think there are too many other lead engineers that would spend that kind of time and effort on a small customer!

So, I'm even more impressed and extremely satisfied with Sp-Tech and just wanted to share my experience.  With support like this, I'm sure I'll find space for the "industrial" class miner out next.

Thanks Zvi and SP-Tech

aka "whocares"
both my SP20E & SP30 are STILL offline with seemingly dead MMC boards.

Multiple emails to @support have gone unanswered.

STILL waiting on the experimental SD card/firmware...

STILL waiting on ribbon cables...

STILL waiting on a reply that isnt 'karma-derp/mail@support'...

If it was in the last few days then they will probably get back to you in the next 24 hours.... they are closed Thursday night to Sunday (CST) i think....

I like some of the error messages... they are BIG DRAMA... however, if someone could give me a hint to what they want to tell me...

@zvisha, or @Guy : always wondered why the name squid was chosen

Squid? Maybe this will help you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spondulix

I was referring to the naming of some parts of minergate

I don't get it. Where do you see squid in the minergate?

https://github.com/Spondoolies-Tech/miner_gate_sp30/blob/master/miner_gate/squid.c
https://github.com/Spondoolies-Tech/miner_gate_sp30/blob/master/miner_gate/squid.h

From working through the code for minergate: squid appears to be the central hub for communications
