Hello to all.
I need help to recover a SP20.
problem happens when i downgrade from 2.6.14 to 2.5.12 with firmware list from web management.   After the downgrade machine shows it is a SP10, having web access, but not mining. I did a factory reset and have not more access to the unit.
So I tried a recovery with SDcard. I got xmas lights , but problem remain. 4 times or more.
I can get web and ssh acces to the machine with SDboot, but want to recover internal memory.
It looks that something internally is saying the machine is a SP10 , but doesnt know how to change it.
here is something similar:
http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/blogs/technical-blog/16218032-recover-sp10-that-has-image-2-x-x

but i am not sure if this is the same that my situation and what the instructions to fix it have to be implemented.

I write to support, but I get tired after one week waiting for a solution from them. Not much happy with support.

thanks

If you have hosting at Minersource and want to get out of there, you're also welcome to contact us. We've gotten a few SP3Xs from Minersource over the last few months, including a few after their website went down. I don't know if shipments will continue, but I hope so. I've been thinking about making a trip down to Denver to visit a friend, so there's a chance I might be able to pick some miners up from Minersource as well.

Update from one of our customers: While they were able to get some of their miners shipped from Minersource to us a few weeks ago, their subsequent attempts to get their last 4 SP30s out of Minersource have not been successful yet, after one week of attempted contact.

*Ominous music plays in the background*

I used to do a fair amount of business with minersource, have had exactly one email conversation with Carson in the last month, over the course of about two hours on the 12th. No responses to any inquiries since then. Not terribly encouraging as they'd previously been talking about sending a lot of work our way, and we were already preparing for the jobs before they went dark. Just throwing that out there.

Would contacting the Colorado State Attorney help?

SP30 with the 'boot SD' has crapped out again!! (restarting every 3 minutes with zero mining) (last SP20 is 'fine')

multiple 'SD recoveries' failed to help

multiple 'SD boot' attempts fail to help

(SP20E offline 10 days)
I have similar issue...

Try sd boot first, but patiently wait for at least 10 minutes to see if miner boot.
If not, try to put sd card on working sp20, then wait (must be self reboot and start booting)
If not shut them down for at least 5 min and then with inserted SD Recovery wait again at least 10 minutes to get xmas light mode, then wait not 2min as is said in instruction, but wait 10/15 minutes, remove sd and power down.

I found all this when i try to recover 2 sp20e after power faliure, first one was fixed with sd recovery, but second one work only with sd boot(seems like his own memory is dead)

Good luck!

Thanks loudnes, but still no joy on the SP30.

2nd day of failed recoveries and i think its not coming back.

SP-T mentioned the MMC board possibly needing replacing.

If they havent yet sent my ribbons & connector headers, perhaps they can send an SP30 board at the same time.

4.06PM

Dear 'Edgar',

Today we are shipping to you some spare parts with DHL.

Please see attached shipping documents

Best Regards,

Katya Penkar

Invoice shows 4 x 6 pin connector headers only.

No mention of ribbons nor SP30 MMC board...

A few people have asked about shipping charges from Titan to our facility. Apparently Titan and/or SPTech are charging $300 for shipping and handling. While reasonable for worldwide shipping, that's pretty ridiculous given how close we are to Titan. If you are thinking of moving your miners to us from Titan, we are willing to pick up your miners in person to help you avoid the $300 shipping and handling fee. We've still got about 30 kW of capacity that we can make available to Titan customers. Email [email protected] if you have questions.

They want to make someone create an account to even file a complaint.  I'm not giving them my damn contact information.  I would suggest others be careful doing so as well.

I think SP should do this. But hey, at least it shows that Spondoolies as a brand is an asset i China!

Some in China are known for hacking to obtain technical designs on products from corporations, etc...  I would be careful if I were SP.

Aliexpress / Alibaba

Of course it is reputable.

Some of the companies that sell are not. But they do try very hard to maintain a watch on that in Aliexpress and Alibaba. Rating system is pretty good. In 3 years of using Aliexpress I have hand one complaint about non-shipment and my money was returned by the company after Aliexpress intervened.

I think a lot of people still have misconceptions about Alibaba. At one point it was a bit of a joke to try and get useful quotes on it, but it's evolved considerably and is now a juggenaugt. They did US$9.4B in sales in a single day during their 11.11 sale in 2014. That's an eighth of eBay's 2013 gross merchandise volume, in a single day.

It really has grown quicker than I ever expected it could, it's just many people atleast in my country (western country) don't use it or havent heard of it and so for it to be so huge without being world known is pretty remarkable.

alibaba is basically ebay/amazon for bulk chinese products. excellent source of generic quality goods for almost everything.

Thanks.  I didn't understand the last part of what you wrote about part of the settings not being able to be modified via the UI after rebooting.

All the units (SP10, 20, 30, 31, 35) will keep the configuration settings if they're restarted/rebooted.  That includes voltages, pools, .. everything you can set with the UI.

The part which is NOT persistent after a reboot/restart, you can't modify it via the UI.

Western countries build most of their products on the market in China. Then China sells these engineered products to the rest of the world on Alibaba Smiley Easy!

Does anyone know whether or not the SP31 will keep its voltage settings if the unit is restarted? I will be under locking a couple of units on each circuit and want to make sure for planning. Thanks.

can anyone recommend a sp31 clocking guide?

by this I mean a guide or list of voltages and watts to clock the unit at to get the best power consumption and hashrate

I think the easiest way would be to lower your start voltage and limit the PSUs. For example for using 3350GH/s at 1760W you would limit each PSU to 850W.

Performance for SP31s at different power levels can be seen here:

Yes I saw that, but is there a breakdown that includes voltage or watts?

Send an email to j at toom period im and I'll send you a data table. I'd include it here, but I don't really feel like doing the work to make it format properly on this board right now.
