Curmudgeonly hardware guy
I never liked their design strategy with RockerBox gear. The added complexity headaches of a four-phase 200A buck and cooling a hundred watts from one square inch of chip surface, coupled with an FPGA-implemented comm protocol, really gave their stuff a lot of added cost and reliability concerns. Asking to draw 3KW from a 2U rack unit was crazy, made for some seriously annoying fans and the gear only runs rated speed with arctic intake temperatures. That said, utilizing reliable and efficient server PSUs from the get-go was a solid design choice; they were one of the only makers to allow core voltage adjustment inherent to the design; and they are only one that didn't deliberately hire sadists for customer service reps. I don't know that they ever self-mined and sold used gear from their own farm as new hardware, which is becoming common.
If I were in charge of a business like Spondoolies I'd change a few things about engineering concepts, but not one thing about how they handled communication, tech support and customer service. Those guys were alright.

RoadStress wasn't just ScamDoolies attack dog.  He also acted as a liability buffer for the group buy of machines that failed to perform as marketing specs advertised.

If Cypherdoc's Bitcoin can be claimed in bankruptcy court as an improper asset transfer, then RoadStress' shill renumeration (especially if paid in BTC) may also be up for clawback by creditors.

I suggest you find out who he is and how much he was paid to help promote/defend this exit scam.

Please don't compare me to the cypherdoc scammer! He endorsed HashFash with no chip developing technical skills and with no tech start-up business skills!

Uh,you screwed up those quotes..............That isn't a quote of mine  Roll Eyes

You do understand that with the high build quality of the sp 10x, 3x and 2x there was no way they could compete with the Chinese.

I suppose you think they should have made crappy open air miners like Bitmain with load ugly fans rather than the static pressure cooling builds they uses with the high

quality aluminium cases ?

Not sure what you could have done differently or better...

I dont agree with that statement as I would buy quality over quantity all day long. Given the choice I would pay, and have paid extra for Spondoolies kit over other rubbish.

Such a same to see Spondoolies pack up shop, they really did know how to make quality equipment that shits over bitmain's stuff

Anyway I will you guys all the best, and thank you for all your support!

Regards
A

Don't you looooooove how offensive my name sounds?
spoondoolies could you possibly comment on your relationship with genesis in all this?
i mean AFAIK you had 0.16 chips months ago, made the best made machines in the biz, and a partnership exclusively with genesis
the "world's largest hashpower provider".  i guess i just wonder what happened and if it had anything to do with that partnership, as i could imagine massive over evaluations due to them  ;\

i came off a bit harsh earlier, as you guys really did make the highest quality machines probably in the entire scene, im just confused i guess ;(

Sorry to see ya go Spoondolies!!!

But,this is the end result of bad business decisions,IMO  Roll Eyes

So one less miner maker to compete for the network hashrate   Grin

Now it's up to Avalon,Bitfury,Bitmain,KnC & a few others I may have forgotten,to run the home miners off the network  Cheesy

what decisions are you talking about ? you mean the decision to abandon home mining and go the corporate route ?

just seems a shame to end this way

does Israel not have a chapter 11 provision?

Israeli bankrupcy law is still very close to English law, meaning not really. Restructuring plans (aka "this what I'm going to do to fix the company") are very hard to get accepted.

in fairness, Guy & Zvi were for the most part, a pleasure to deal with.

but it 'must' be said that there were some absolute cunts working there too!!

unlike KnC where there were nothing but cunts!

Update: It appears a band of employees who weren't being paid had the court grant an interim liquidator. $2.25M in cash is a lot of money to burn though when you're not trading and aren't paying your employers, eh?

So what are you and the other guys (no pun) going to do now? Seems like you had a good team that made some good product.
Do you think there's any space in the mining environment for small/medium size businesses?
