My Sp 20 is disconnecting/ stopping mining for no reason. I have 1300PSU platinum going and it keeps knocking itself offline. The fan is still running so the only way I can tell is when I log into it, which I can't do at that point. I log into my stats page on eligius and I can see I am zero hashing. If I reboot PSU then it comes back on. Seems to be happening between every 4 and 24 hours. Is anyone else having this issue?
I have reset to factory and now trying to run. we will see how this goes.
Exactly what I was having for a few times today. Is it running hot? I moved it to somewhere cold, and it hasn't crashed yet. *touches wood*

In garage. 30 degrees in there. Its not hot to the touch at all. psu wires not hot. I just reset to factory. maybe this will do it. time will tell.
What is the temperature shown in the Asic stat page? i had it in somewhere around 27*C, and it crashed afterwards. It's at somewhere 5*C now, still going with the stats in my last post above.

here's what I have. Why are some in yellow?

The max temps are 125*C for each of them. Once it hits 120*C I think they start to throttle themselves. According to what I've read, try keeping them at < 115*C for them to run more stably. I'm suspecting that the high temps in there might've caused the controller board to freeze somehow.

I've experimented with hacking the sp20 to fan speeds below those supported. When the device isn't overclocked (0.66v max) it seems to run fine at 20% fanspeed without overheating despite ambient temps today being in the high 20s. Noise is always an issue and this helps a little.

Running stable around 1.6TH/s after placing this at a cool location (window-sill). I'm just wondering why one of the modules is running consistently at 120*C, lol. That particular module is running at a lower voltage then the others, too.

folks have been asking me about renting out SP20's on rental sites...

please see short guide here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9849580

I still dont understand why people would rent equipment that costs  more to rent than the btc it mines?

Owners who enjoy the hobby and actually have and own the equipment are different.

heh .. because if I need 200TH for 2 hrs today, I don't need to buy the equipment and infrastructure to run it. I just rent 150 x  Sp20 to do my job.

Did you ever rent a car? Almost always, renting a car costs more than you pay to own it. Do I make sense?

Quick question, does anyone's SP20 crash after 1-2 hours of running? I probably have the values wrong...

anything in the logs around the moment it crashes ? (aka "events" tab on the UI)

My electricity cost is cheaper at night than daytime. So far I'm runing SP20 with energy efficient settings, but I want to change fan/voltage setting between day and night with cron.

What files contains fan/voltage settings and what command I can start/stop cgminer for SP20?

Thanks in advance.

Try the minergate configuration file /mnt/config/etc/mg_custom_mode
After you modify the settings, try to restart minergate (which controls the unit), not cgminer which deals with the hashes only.

Anyway, if you kill cgminer, the watchdog will restart it .. but if minergate is not restarted, it'll run with the same configuration ..
see here how you kill cgminer >> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.msg9253830;topicseen#msg9253830

You have a button to restart minergate. What it does .. it triggers "/usr/local/bin/spond-manager " with the "restart" option;
Of course, you can CRON it to restart the unit after you run a script to change some file names there  ..

currently, they are not mining BTC.

however, I do rent miners, but I mine on DGM pools which is a whole different kettle of fish than your standard 0.01257btc/th/day that you will find on other mining methods.

I like to find the smallest pool possible and hash away for as long as it takes to solve the round blocks.
always mined DGM and it's never done me wrong to date.

I have 2 SP20s, for one of them I can not acces the settings page anymore,
My router assiged the following ip adresees : 192.168.1.99 and 192.168.1.100
I can access just fine the one ending with 99
But I can not acces the one with 100 anymore saying that the web page is not available when I try accessing it from my browser

Both of them are up and mining, they have the pool settings stored, I just can't access one of them's menu

this are the ip's asigned by the router: http://gyazo.com/1dcfb737298ce594e928aa99131f1dac

Any ideeas? thank you !
Try to access via another laptop/desktop on the same network, browse to http://myminer.io

I did all this, I also assigned another ip, I cleared cache, I tried connecting from another laptop from same network, I even tried from my phone.Nothing seems to work

Please help !

Can anyone from your team give me some support ? maybe connect to me via TeamViewer and help me out ?
Follow the SP20 SD recovery procedure in the technical blog.
If it won't work, contact tech.support@ for diagnostic and RMA if needed.

where can I find this recovery procedure blog ?

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/blogs/technical-blog/13098521-sp10-sp2x-sp3x-recovery-sd-card-boot-sd-card-creation-instructions

the instructions are for Linux.
can you adapt them for Terminal (Mac OSX), please?
Below are the instructions I found and successfully used for SD card image preparation (for competitors hardware ONLY!!!)
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/antminer-s2-discussion-and-support-thread-515448
Is is possible to adapt these procedures to SP3X or SP20?
Thanks

Man, that's cool! I don't see Bitmain doing that, eh!

I don't think they did that for ck  and they should have sent him a s-1 a s-2 a  s-3 a s-4 and WTF a c-1
