Toom.im is now accepting SP20s for hosting. If you need a power supply, we can supply one for $100.
How much for an SP20? I guess around $110-$120 for a 1 month contract?
Something like that. I haven't had a chance to meter any SP20s yet. I expect there's a wider range of efficiency/performance options available with the SP20 than the SP30, so how much we charge may end up depending on how it's configured and how efficient the PSUs we end up using are. (I hope they'll be around 92% efficient.)

LOOP[5] ON
15: disabled (Asic all engines fail BIST)
16: DC2DC/1/:[vlt1:705 vlt2:711(DCl:794 Tl:794 Ul:759) 73W 103A  57c] ASIC:[ 85c (120c) 790hz(BL: 790)   53 (E:193) F:0]
17: DC2DC/1/:[vlt1:708 vlt2:711(DCl:794 Tl:794 Ul:759) 64W  91A  47c] ASIC:[ 85c (120c) 695hz(BL: 695)   48 (E:193) F:0]

This happens on occasion. Unless the ASIC is physically damaged, it should recover if you restart minergate. Firmware 2.5.12 has this problem less frequently than 2.5.6, but they all can get it for different reasons. If it's a regular problem, you can set up a script or cron job to restart minergate once a day or something like that.

will i own that psu?
Yes, but I can't promise that it would withstand return shipping, as I was considering just soldering the PCIE wires directly onto 1200W server PSUs. If you want to sell it back to us when you're done with it, I'd probably buy it back for around $50. I would also be willing to lease them for $10/month.

I ordered another SP20, can't help it.  It is an addiction

Ha!

Im sat considering the same, my decrepit jupiters will be shutting down in a week or 2...

but i just woke up to this sp20 hashing at 957 again...8 more hours semi-downtime.

A quick save in the settings brought it back up but i plan to be away for xmas, so can do without the ballache.

@ SPTech - Is there any possibility of these ones being a bit more stable?

Return that sucker and get another one. Obviously it is not doing the one thing it's supposed to. Hash away.

Well after a lot of fooling around I have everything almost back 100% with 2.5.13

now should I let the temps drop below 0c and see what happens? Smiley

What's reason the hash rate goes down?

On another front, just checked my SP30's and one has an ASIC error. Not too cold in there, input temps constant since setup at around 20°C

Got this in Asics Stats

This is the first time I have ever seen SP lower prices. And it wasn't a little at a time, it was just one big drop. I could be mistaken about them lowering prices, but I don't remember. Old age starts to melt away brain cells.

No, they always do it. Sp-30 for July were $11000>$4500 Aug>3900 Oct

No. This is the first time they lower the price 40% for in stock miner.

If its "in stock" why do you have to wait 10 days before it ships.

SP always build to order AFAIK, and the SP20 is no different.

If i remember correctly, they dropped the price on sp-10 very drastically as well ..and it was also in stock.
however, you are probably right re 40% being the first.

I cannot express how glad I am I sold my SP20 immediately for exactly what I paid for it given they have 0 regard for those who purchased early (as show in the lowering of prices 1 week after delivery without equal compensation to early supporters).

Lowered the price 1 week after delivery, but shipping is one week later so that makes it 2 weeks. Also you should know by now that mining hardware price is always going down. I don't think you were expecting the same price until the end of the year.

The hardware was actually shit too, hence why they had to stop selling it to sort the problems out.

They had issues with shipping, not with the actual hardware, but yes feel free to spread your anger/shit here.

The mechanical problem with the SP20 was completely solved. We've tested and confirmed.

Can you expand a little in layman terms what the problem was? I'm considering buying a few, but have been holding out due to this.

Thanks  Smiley
In previous revision of the SP20 mechanical kit, the hashing boards may shift during transit due to the fact that they were not secured enough inside the box.
Most of the customers that were encountered the issue were able to solve by simply opening the box and press down the hashing board.

Has that issue been resolved for when they are being shipped out and bouncing all over in the back of a delivery truck? You mentioned what happened and what users did to resolve the issue, but never mentioned has the underlying problem been resolved?
Thanks.

Great hardware, shitty management.

price is still too high, there is no roi here.

Hardware = $800 (including power supply)
Profitability decline per year = 0.1 (only <8% decline per period, very conservative)
Power = 1200W @0.15

Still come back with a negative $ after 12 months. It's basic math, i dont understand why people continue to buy those overpriced hardware, host them, run them, when they wont make any money for you.

I just went over that with my dad, that he has to pay the electricity on this one (not hosted) and buy a high quality PSU which would cost about $200 for a good one. He's now bummed like a little kid, but so am I. Buying mining gear together keeps up talking and in a good relationship.

Get an s3+ or the c1

Similar price/gh, similar efficiency, but very reasonable volume. Could run 1-2 in the corner of a room and barely be noticed above the noise of a desktop pc or desk fan

The sp20 is perhaps a better product, bit not if noise matters

We're trying. Thank you.

I believe you've been the most transparent company in not just keeping people informed on orders, but on upcoming technologies. Please keep up that great work!
