Something interesting if you read it "Reliable and cost effective 28 nanometer (nm) process versus 16 nm processes".  It seems the ones who stuck with 28 nm are going to be the winners at least short term.

They mastered a old NM instead of going smaller nm.  Both bitmain and SP did this which I find interesting.

Please give use a SP50 mini Smiley.  I really would love to have one with so much power.   If i could get one that 1 240 30 amp breaker could power that would be great.

man this thing is insane.. hard to imagine them coming out with a version for the home miner.. as zvisha said a few pages ago.. consumer mining is a dead horse, this sp50 and whatever else comes next in this large scale is the future.

I hope at least bitmain stays with the home centric gear

well, that's what IBM thought in the 80ies, but PC beat the crap out of them in volume and industry size.
datacenters are slow to change their hardware, home users are quick, so agile manufacturer(s) should be able to induce faster turnaround (in theory)

Very nice indeed, mining just took a giant leap forward. Decimal point missing on this page.

Yeah realm this,is a game changer, I just upgraded my basement to 200amp service and also getting another 150 amps in my garage I could handle two of these units, please someone start a group buy for this now!
.even with my bad electrity costs that's only $50 per day for that massive hashrate

Please Guy hook us up!

are you guys millionaires? dropping at least 50-52K at the moments notice.

I'm not a millionaire but I was getting ready to buy 24 S7's.  My next move will be carefully thought out.

I've never dealt with spondoolies-tech before.  Now they are definitely worth a look.

Hate to break it to you, but Spondoolies doesn't want to deal with you or I unfortunately. In all likelihood, they don't want orders under 1 PH/s or so. They'll probably sell just enough to outsiders to recoup their R&D + manufacturing costs upfront and then provide units to BTCS exclusively.

Hope I'm wrong!

So now we're down to just BITMAIN that's selling to the rest of us.  Sfards isn't shipping anything in any quantities or at any pricepoints that matter.

I for one, do not welcome our new mining hardware overlords and would like to see more competition.

SPTech, please tell me you have something planned that will be available to the home miner?

Yes, our only option is a Chinese manufacturer called bitmain. Hopefully they don't end up letting us down too, but I know they will. The people's currency is now in the hands of a few corporations. Gone are the days where anyone and everyone could participate by driving to their local PC shop to pick up a CPU or later a GPU. This is where greed has taken us.

To be fair only the SP20 was iffy as it was rated right at the top of what it could physically do while in a cooler ambient. And while the SP30 was regrettable, it was refunded sufficiently such that I don't think anyone was too unhappy.
There was also at least one particularly awful batch of SP35's that I was hosting for a customer that was under-performing often by 500GH per unit due to bad chips.

Just to be clear, it is 110Th+/-10%. Beforehand it was a mixed bag with SP30 vs Sp20. Sp30 was +/-, but SP20 was never a +/-, but rather - in most cases.
10% is a bit more variability than I would like to see. 5% would have been better, especially when we are talking about numbers that are so large.
So, if it is 100TH, then it is 16.5J/Gh, still very very impressive for a large machine like this.

To be fair only the SP20 was iffy as it was rated right at the top of what it could physically do while in a cooler ambient. And while the SP30 was regrettable, it was refunded sufficiently such that I don't think anyone was too unhappy.

Somehow I missed the picture of the back.  I've just installed an additional 400 amp service and am getting ready to build a shed.  If I could get my hands on a few of these things, that would be a game changer.

Same. Those are Artesyn style PSUs but they colors are reversed from the SP35's one.

Maybe Spondoolies will allow us "plebs" to form a group buy on these so those with the available power can pick up a few. Shipping logistics would be a nightmare, though.

I would like to see what the power input looks like.  Is it a bunch of power cords, or direct wired with it's own breaker.

Just look at the back of it. 10x 240V inputs, so a bunch of wires.
