Are we considering switching to a self-moderated thread?

There has been enough of a stink made about this that I think there is reason to believe that even opening ourselves to the association poses a risk to growth. While the ethics of it are up to debate, allowing the flag to continue to exist within our community may pose more risks in the future, and has obviously already done some damage. My thinking is that we make a moderated thread stating that we will not tolerate any sort of antics that pose a risk of associating our project/ crypto with criminality. I disagree with moderating too heavy handedly because things can get totalitarian very quickly but in my opinion, suppressing one individual's right to post a flag (that is easy associated with a terrorist organization) in order to protect this project is not an unreasonable compromise.

They will be back quickly...Mmmh, comme je l'avais dit, c'est un coup monté.
Now, the real waves are coming. Cool

What you don't get is that you fell to a US (yes the United States) scheme to overthrow (as in make war) the Syrian (Iranian aso.) government. ISIS is a war machine CREATED to do the dirty job. And you dumb faggot fell for it.

You are a puppet (like cattle) to the puppet masters (Zionists).

This is slightly getting out of hand guys.. As much as I respect everyone's beliefs and opinions let's just stick to crypto.

Also, it saddens me to see some early-adopters and long-term supporters leave the project. For now I'm here to stay, and will keep an eye out for upcoming updates.

Good luck @georgem and anyone else involved! Smiley

Thanks.

Something tells me that those few early-adopters that left during the latest shit storm will be back quickly once they see real tangible progress.
I'm counting on it, and they are always welcome here!

What is more damaging from a marketing perspective, a user not affiliated with development, though a frequent poster with an avatar that has the capacity to offend fellow members of this subforum? or discussions on this topic rather than that of development progress?  Certainly neither is beneficial and the price of this coin has reflected that.

I find it odd that this particular user would damage his own self interests and both alarming and fucking crazy that bitcointalk moderators are ok with seemingly open supporters of terrorist organizations using their site.  This is not an anti-globalization image or political in any way, it's one objectively promoting hate and cruelty and if it impedes the ability to talk about crytocurrency, then it directly conflicts with the intended purpose of this site!

Again, the development delays are troubling as is the complete lack of transparency.  Obviously no one is going to operate a service node out of altruism.  It needs to be a profitability yielding vehicle.  And if it constantly takes weeks to months for a simple update or an update on an update, spreadcoin will never achieve the price stability necessary for a successful launch of service nodes.

But your mindset ... is positively false!

This is why I invested at 5k sats and I'm still here.

Money doesn't stink.

But please tell me, what goes on in your mind when you see this:

Is this offending you?

If yes, then you can (in a way) understand what many people here feel when they see your flag!
They feel like someone is openly pissing on their way of life.

Also, If you are invested in this coin, why do you act like a bull in a china shop?
You must be aware of the effect you are having. So why would you hurt your own investment?
 Grin

But hey, why am I surprised that there is even more irrationality the closer I look...

Anyway, I'm not here to talk about anyone's feelings.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if the mods here are now more "triggered" by my picture because it falls under some kind of anti-discrimination clause,
but they have been ok with the ISIS flag all the time?

Let's see.  Grin

Sorry, chaps.

I've really tried. The general view is that free speech trumps our project's rights to exist.

I've found out that this ISIS flag is illegal in Germany and Israel, but that doesn't count, apparently.

I'm opening a self-moderated, unless Georgem opens one first.

I'd don't mind trolls. But this ISIS stuff is nothing to do with the project and we can't deal with it. 'Just ignore him is the standard response'. We've tried that. It doesn't work.

The only rule for the self-moderated thread is no 'ISIS cunts'. I spent over a year brushing off trolls in the darkcoin thread. This ISIS stuff is a step too far for me.

I hear you.

But this is a public space.

If this was my house (like spreadcointalk, or spreadcoin.info) I would have deleted any pics of such flags immediately.

But I always looked at these BCT threads here like some sort of wild west, a lawless jungle.
With horrible, venomous creatures, you wouldn't want to touch with a ten feet pole.

Sometimes the best way of how to fight poison is with another poison.

Since this is a jungle, lets see how the moderators will react if I do this:

Bad ideas deserve open ridicule!

Please everybody put any person you can't stand on your ignore list.
Or ridicule them, if you have the nerves and/or time.

But we are here to stay, and I got stuff to do.

Important stuff!  Cool

I'm sorry!

Should've checked the other github account. 1 commit on a readme file since September 2015. Impressive!

I also like the photoshop work on the "Horny Hamster" wallet (block explorer+service nodes). The only problem is that, in the "recent events" tab, the text is lower by 1px in comparison with the rest of the tabs. Looks like an error on your PS editing, but i hope that you will prove me wrong and release the working software. (doubt it)

Anyways, at least you've tried. Now it's time to fade away into obscurity.

I love this sort of trolling.

People like you make or break projects. Not because you make particularly good points. No. you keep the thread bumped.

Bump, bump, bump.

Without all that lovely bumpy for free, the project would get less attention, and would probably fade into the background.

Bring it.

You're still not sorry enough.  Grin

Download the most recent wallet (the one I developed) and you can see the 1px lower "recent events" tab (whatever that means) live in front of your eyes!

You might want to check the in-wallet vanity-gen while you are at it.
