Thanks for the great explanation!

I created a counterparty wallet on counterwallet.io some time ago. So, I can use the Bitcoin address of this counter wallet to receive my STORJ coins from the Poloniex exchange?  Shocked

I tried to get the Storj wallet run on my machine without success. So, I would like to create a paper wallet in order to get out my freshly bought Storj coins from exchange. Is there a paper wallet available? If not, is there another secure way to create public/private key pair?

Storj is a counterparty asset so https://counterwallet.io/ is the standard wallet to use. Here are some alternate choices:

  • Install the Tokenly Pockets Chrome extension on your chrome browser. It is compatible with the same passphrase you usually use in the standard counterwallet.

  • Indiesquare for mobile is available for android and iOS. You can download it from https://wallet.indiesquare.me/

If you want to use a paperwallet, you can make a regular bitcoin paper wallet, but you should first test with a very small amount of SJCX and make sure you know how to sweep it back into a counterwallet, because there is no other way to make the counterparty assets visible again. Regular bitcoin wallets will not be able to see counterparty assets. Alternately you could send it to cold storage in Armory and make a watch only address in counterwallet, but that is a somewhat complicated process not recommended for the faint of heart.

Yes you should use the bitcoin address from your counterwallet to withdraw your SJCX from Poloniex

I got another question: I have just seen here [1] that 90% of all SJCX assets are hold by these adress(es) 2_17VLRV4y7g15KNhCepYvgigHHvREzbEmRn_1FkQMTyqzD2BK5PsmWX13AeJAHz5NEw7gq_1HhfcdD 1hRaim17m5qLEwGgHY7PBTb1Dof_3

What's it all about?

There are 49,518,143 SJCX in circulation and 500 000 000 in total. Where are these coins? Burnt? Or still "mineable"? Hold by devs?

https://storj.io/faq.html

Currently Storj Labs is distributing some of the remaining funds as rewards to the farmers that participate in beta testing. See https://driveshare.org/rewards.html  The latest rewards have already been calculated and posted for review, they will be distributed in the coming days.

I'm surprised how little attention this is getting.

Great project, Azure news today but not many people posting here.
Coinmarket cap is so low right now...

Can you earn Storj by sharing space your harddrive?

hee your kidding right?
this is like a 2 year old project that has been a personal golden goose for the makers, without making any real progress
but as usual these type projects just continue on and on...
they are currently in beta "phase 2" and will be prob for another 6 months lmao
most pools have started to drop storj support (eobot being big one) with utter lack of real progress
it was a great idea, but the fact that they took 2 years killed it
noone wants to rent hdd space anymore when u can BUY a 128gb thumb drive for 30$
or a 1tb hdd for 40$
dead and gone, but bagholders still hold on to it and trade it, it has healthy volume ;p

o and as far as "azure" goes cmon, its the new big thing, "being apart of azure" and takes 5 mins for an azure application ;p

Now I have a reply was received: We limit rewards to 25TB per payout address. I changed the rewards for some, but not all, of your builds to reflect this. According to the spreadshet, you will still receive over 1,200 SJCX for your participation.
Unfortunately the question is about and where it is written, I have not received an answer, because there is no such information, just wrote a pity that they did not know about it ...
as well as the user should I learn about it if if this parameter is not specified anywhere?

I actually read something about the cap somewhere.... but i don't recall where it was.  So it could have been easy to miss.

For the history the blame game from a bad translate in my post Tongue
The greek word "φoβερό" translated for terrible but it means Amazing. Tongue
I say that storj project is amazing and they translate it that storj project is terrible.
The point is that the succeed of the project will not come with witch hunting guys or net hunting.
I will continue follow this project because i like the idea but i will continue have my political view about any altcoin out there and for sure i will never again be part of storj community.

there are so many trolls in this community.  some people whose minds are so full of illusion or perhaps even empty.

sorry you had to encounter this, but if you think that was bad you should see some of the XCP chat.  it's even worse.

some of these people think they are actually helping crypto by attacking people who have a different opinion....  they don't even understand that opinions are just opinions and that it's okay to have different views.

Quote
Marley Gray, ‎Director BizDev & Strategy for Cloud & Enterprise Blockchain at Microsoft Corp. said: “Microsoft is excited to host Storj Labs on Azure BaaS, providing our growing community of partners a fantastic distributed object storage application.”

This Azure interoperation follows similar announcements from leading blockchain technology businesses, which should accelerate collaboration and innovation in the cloud storage market.

According to Ethereum founder, Vitalik Buterin, an important shift is underway in the industry: “Distributed file storage systems like Storj have the potential to eliminate high markup costs and market inefficiencies and provide a much higher level of privacy, reliability and quality of service than we see today.”

Enterprises are also beginning to notice the potential of distributed object storage. Companies like Coca-Cola, Cox Enterprises, InterContinental Hotels Group, The Weather Channel and Capgemini are now exploring the commercialization of Storj within their own organizations.
