No fucking reason to reduce the fucking monetary base.

You are trying to fool some fucking assholes artificially increasing the price.
(Less coins, same market cap=increase the price for 300 to attract fuckings assholes.)

You have an interesting project, there is no reason to reduce the number of coins

I have no clue what are you talking about since everybody who's holding SYS will have its stash reduced by a conversion rate of 299:1.
How is this intended to fool people? Elaborate please.

Stash down, price up.  What is the reason to reduce stash?

more info on that as we get closer to publicly sharing the nitty gritty details.  Wink

I understand about not announcing it before it's time but can you tell a little more about what kind of applications (I don't think that's giving anything away Smiley )?

I can think of a few:
  • Exchange Trading
  • Online Casino
  • Mobile Payments
  • Music Distribution
  • Pay-per-View
  • B2B
  • Supply Chain

Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
Dev(s): what are your plans with Azure?

Now that you're partners with MS, are you planning on developing applications in Azure with Sys integration?

I'm really curious to know what the plans are on Azure Smiley

We are trying not to share news before its official, and we're also trying not to tip our hand to any other projects that may be trying to mimic our movements. For that reason I'm not going to go into any explicit details but yes, we have developed, and are developing additional applications that are powered by Syscoin (these applications are NOT limited to just marketplaces- remember we have digital downloads, encrypted messaging; w more features planned post-launch). These applications will be available for one-click deployment via Azure. Syscoin's Azure instance will not simply be a "node"- we're going for much more.

We're also working with MS to get Syscoin a status on Azure that presently only Ethereum has, more info on that as we get closer to publicly sharing the nitty gritty details.  Wink

Last night I scoped out the Microsoft Azure site and the BAAS offerings.

SYS looks sharp in the solution matrix.

Happy to see electronic money and blockchain technology finally getting integrated into the main stream.

Way to go SYS team on forging the way.

I too am excited to watch your progress... been awhile since we've seen something innovative push ahead.

God Speed.

How can u know price will be bigger ?
Price can drop a lot and then you will lose a lot right ?

I don't know for a fact of course- no one does. Logically if (roughly) 450mil tokens are worth 3000sat a piece as of the time of this writing, if the supply is reduced by 300 its logical to assume that the price will scale proportionally as well. Again, this is not guaranteed but people would have to sell at a major loss for this not to happen.

what is so innovative about SYS? Will it co exist with ETH or is it a competitor ?

Outside what people have already mentioned - we have a a wide set of features fully operational right now. Decentralized marketplaces, escrow, reselling, private selling, encrypted messaging (no need for PGP!), digital certificates (digital downloads and DRM transfers), and aliases off the top of my head. We have more features planned but these are what are available in the public beta that's been in circulation for a lil over a half a month at this point, and will be live in about 2 weeks on mainnet when that launches. There are no other coins with this complete, functional feature set, most have roadmaps or something that say they'll try to do this stuff, we've already done it in Syscoin.

In terms of ETH that is something that isn't really direct competition for Syscoin. That being said there is the possibility to create an analagous platform on ETH, if the Syscoin features were implemented via a smart contract, but thus far no one has really gotten close. For those new to Syscoin the team did investigate shifting the implementation entirely to ETH but after some research determined there was too much risk (at the time) with that path, and stuck with the latest greatest Bitcoin core. We do have some substantial DApp development knowledge as a result of that effort, and its being put to use in future offerings that we just aren't ready to share yet as there is more design/planning needed before we can do so.

Hope this helps clarify things, also recommend this post from out blog, its somewhat dated now but is a good rundown of what Syscoin offers and how it compares. We have added many new features which aren't captured in this post, but in terms of comparisons I think it may be helpful: http://syscoin.org/in-depth-look-at-the-syscoins-decentralized-marketplace-and-comparing-it-to-the-competition/. Also recommend just checking out our blog in general, lots of history and insight into the thinking behind some of these design decisions can be found there.

Read between the lines... "Mainstream adoption"

Thanks and I couldn't agree with you more re:Mainstream adoption! That is our primary focus as we release Syscoin 2.0 to mainnet, and this weekend's blog post will have some more details on our plans in that regard. Still lots going on behind the scenes, we're very much committed to growing the success on Syscoin in the long term.  Smiley

thanks for that brilliant answer! You guys are great..

One more question... when setting up a Market on your platform is there a way to run the domain through tor to remain anon, or have a market identity and logo etc...

Thanks for the meaningful questions Smiley yes you several options for anon within Syscoin.

I would suggest running the wallet on TOR (it can run on Tor the same way the bitcoin wallet does) and furthermore using a VPN if running it on a computer that can be tied to you- this will make it much much harder to trace transactions back to your person.

While the wallet doesn't have any built-in branding for diff markets yet I do think that is a great idea. Blockmarket- the web wallet and marketplace portal can also be run on on Tor to make your market only accessible via Tor (and/or it can be run on clearnet of course). Blockmarket does have a number of complimentary features that help fill out a more holistic marketplace experience- including custom branding, inventory metrics, themes, user preferences, and other features that just wouldn't make a lot of sense building on the chain but still will provide value to merchants.

Everything is really designed around trying to get real merchants to use this platform- ideally in place of their centralized offerings but at the very least in parallel with those offerings!

Syscoin is interesting I will be watching very close. SYSCOIN, BITSHARES  AND ETHEREUM are the only coins I would invest in.

Why da fuck you need to make a swap If you already have a reason to increase the market cap?

Because syscoin 2.0 runs on an entirely different blockchain.

We're testing what we expect to be the final beta internally right now. If all goes to plan we'll have this available to the public by this weekend as well as some info regarding the final sys2 mining schedule, etc. via blog.

No fucking reason to reduce the fucking monetary base.

You are trying to fool some fucking assholes artificially increasing the price.
(Less coins, same market cap=increase the price for 300 to attract fuckings assholes.)

You have an interesting project, there is no reason to reduce the number of coins

Good lord, don't you have any real argument to put forth? And, try using some new words next time, the old ones are getting annoying.

I put in an interesting feature that detects service usage and inflates if blocks are getting full and deflates if not, the goal is to inflate 2% the first year assuming 100tps. Now we know thats not gonna happen so it will be alot less in subsequent years but to inflate 2% and keep fees down in usd terms means you must reduce coin count.

Also we dont need so many coins when its based on service usage, i put fees to dust amounts rather than say 1 or 2 sys per service which "seems" more expensive.
