Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
This coin looks interesting.  What's the most recent news on the team's development progress?  There doesn't seem to be much activity on their github repository.

This shows a nice view I've always thought https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/graphs/punch-card.

We've got the sendtoalias functionality working and are going to push it forward in the roadmap along with some interfaces and usability enhancements around aliases incorporated into wallet interfaces - need to update the roadmap and post to blog yet. We're also working outside of github to build a site that simply lets you browse the aliases on the network. The promotional effort is the primary focus at the moment, running a campaign for about 4 weeks with multiple promoters, also running ads on various sites and through several different services, and doing some of our own promotions. We've got a lot planned so we're also interviewing job candidates for the position posted on the website.

A question for the devs :

Is it safe to assume this process will be streamlined in 0.1.5 or 0.1.6? What about through outside development like was posted a while back? (I forget who posted it) I'm kind of assuming it will be streamlined, but I just wanted to ask. At face value using syscoin looks like more of a hassle than using a darknet marketplace, so naturally people will opt out of using syscoin for the time being.

100% these features will be streamlined in the wallet. Right now its looking like 0.1.6 will be the update which contains those changes as we need to update the roadmap around 0.1.5 as we made more progress than expected and thus will have a 0.1.5 release out AHEAD of the marketplaces release. This will change 0.1.6 to being the marketplaces "marketing" release we will include interfaces in the wallet for marketplace interaction, web examples/interfaces (which we already have working but we're trying to improve them before calling them "done") and there will also be a number of enhancements to the "offers" services themselves in the 0.1.6 release and its related marketing effort.

Roadmap will be updated as soon as we have a hard date for the new 0.1.5 release and there will be an associated blog post.

The big topic we were discussing today within the team is how to create an item for sale and rather than pricing it in SYS, price it in a currency that is then converted to SYS using exchange-rates at the time of offerpay. This way people could sell an item and know they were getting the correct amount of SYS regardless of market price at the time of listing the item.

OK

I'm beginning to remove some of the sell pressure I placed on this coin so the price can naturally rise again

Are you a big whale?
How many sys do you have?

I don't see too much change,
still a lot of sell orders especially in Bittrex.

Cool, thanks for the reply. That's kind of what I was expecting but again I just wanted to make sure. Very cool you're ahead of schedule too considering the bumpy launch.

Let say i want to sell game keys, for starter maybe 5 or 10, can you illustrate the step by step process until the transaction complete? the 100Sys fee, is it per category or per each item (key) or quantity? any other requirement for larger quantity?

thanks

Sure.

Right, this is done off a mac so the menus etc may look a little different but everything else is the same. I'll apologise if i seem to be talking to much or talking obvious, this is how i think it should be pushed out to a general audience.

So going on the principal that you wish to add a game serial onto the marketplace, i will show you how to put up an XBOX Live Monthly Subscription Serial (this is live and available for anyone btw). So, starting with the basics, bring up your wallet.

1. Once open, bring up the debug window.

http://freeimghosting.co.uk/images/rnmr8p044hcfail3du78.jpg

2. Once loaded, goto Console.

http://freeimghosting.co.uk/images/lp1b5oyctnstr9e8ool6.jpg

3. This command to add the initial item onto the marketplace, To explain this command we use offernew and the information shown in the screenshot is shown in order of < category > < offertitle > < quantity > < price > < offerdescription >

http://freeimghosting.co.uk/images/jwhtaexfoymkgytqvmk.jpg

3.1. The command will then give you the transaction information regarding the item you have just added (above)

4. We now need to actually activate the item on the marketplace / blockchain, we will now input the transaction information from above to do this. You will need the rand (first line and the txid (secondline) this is taken from the response / return you initially got when adding the item to the marketplace. Note: In the screenshot i am using both the rand and the txid this is because i closed my wallet, if you did not you only need to use the rand.

http://freeimghosting.co.uk/images/qoxtfblnu7nm4c24an67.jpg

5. Once submitted, it will then be listed and fee taken for doing so.

http://freeimghosting.co.uk/images/dqcttd1c1fnd5dombcm.jpg

6. You can now check the marketplace by running the offerinfo command and using the rand id to show the information about the item.

http://freeimghosting.co.uk/images/snnr2u4wzhyv01wso2en.jpg

7. Now lets look at this from a customer perspective, id goto the console, use the offerinfo command using the specific rand for that item, i would know the quantity available and the price of the item, as well as any other information (description etc) - So, i want this item what i would have to do is specify this using an offeraccept command which falls in the format of ' offer accept rand 1" this says i want to purchase 1 xbox live subscription code, as shown the below using the full command.

http://freeimghosting.co.uk/images/ezuvqhhsa0631otx8tm.jpg

8. You (the customer) is now presented with the unique transaction information for this sale, so now we will pay for it using this information and the offerpay command - Im using the pay txid i was given on the previous step, you may also notice within the brackets extra information i wish to give to the seller, in this case im telling him i want the serial to be emailed to me.

http://freeimghosting.co.uk/images/hqrjew4czekluo5zqa9n.jpg

9. The seller will be able to see the transaction thats just happend within there wallet or by running the 'offerinfo rand' command, as a role play instance if i checked my wallet i would see the sale in my wallet, id then check the offer info and match up the transaction information as shown in the screenshot and i will then simply send the xbox live code to the buyers email address as requested.

http://freeimghosting.co.uk/images/ydkbsmkpm88o1iej2i1.jpg

So that shows how to list, view and sell an item on the Syscoin marketplace - of course this all could and can be made a simpler process using a UI / Web interface of which are been developed this is just the barebones example. A full list of the commands used can be found via the Syscoin Github, have a play - https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/blob/master/COMMANDS.md

I agree its not a scam at least not from the looks of it- and it is very technical. SuperNET is not a coin itself per se but a network of coins which can then leverage each other's features. The question for Syscoin is whether or not the coins that are part of this network provide enough additional value to merit Syscoin joining the network and "sharing" its features with all these other coins. We are watching the progression of the SuperNET project, and will continue to monitor as other coins join this network and re-evaluate the possibility of Syscoin joining as well. Right now its just NXT, BTCD and BBR.

Surely you realize that adding Syscoin to SuperNET will bring amazing value to Syscoin, as it will increase its exposure and user-base beyond what it could attain by itself in both the short and long term?
Such a coalition of coins representing a wide gamut of useful technologies has a much higher chance of surviving and becoming a meaningful force in the crypto world than going at it by yourself.

Syscoin has a lot to offer to that network and I think it's a no-brainer for you to want to take part in it.

I haven't read all the details on it, but I would be a bit cautious as you will have to work out how much value it would actually bring to  syscoin in the long run, as it seems to be set up to add lots of value to nxt and btcd and maybe not so much value to the other coins.  great idea to bring value to their coin, may not bring as much value to syscoin. would need further investigation on how it would all work before jumping in

Exactly. Think if it does bring value it could be good, but if it's giving more than getting not so sure. ALSO, do they let any coin into supernet? This could be the downfall of syscoin if their membership is loose and open, and not very exclusive. IF they are exclusive and only best of the best can join this MIGHT, big might be good. IF they let any coin, then all syscoin hard would will get sucked out of it and into other coins and people won't know syscoin did all this work, but another coin marketing could get all the props for others work.

I'd say needs to be investagated, but very causiously.
