The price might be lower than some may be happy with but keep in mind not many people are selling at that price. It will climb with patience.  Cool
i will buy some if the price keep going down.

Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
I see a few paid FUD's showed up already..  Roll Eyes

Quick suggestion... on the old thread on post #1 at the very top before anything put a notice and link to the new thread, that way any new folks don't have to read through all that to find the new one.

Done! Great suggestion thank you.

We are getting ready to release Syscoin v0.1.4 TOMORROW NIGHT. THIS IS A PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT!

A MANDATORY Client Upgrade v0.1.4 will be released 8/27 @ 8pm EDT. The code on github will be updated at this time as well. Please be READY to update at this time.

This update introduces 2 major enhancements- MERGED MINING WITH ANY SCRYPT COIN and REGENERATED SERVICE FEES FOR MINERS. This release also includes a stability fix for pool operators.

No action is needed right now. This is a pre-announcement so that users, pool operators and exchanges can be ready to update tomorrow evening.

Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
I like the new thread.
Less FUD and an "all" button.

Could the developers please explain what happened at launch?

There is something that I really didn't like (even though it was mostly my fault). I got a nickname and the moment I got it, with no warning, a large amount of SYS just vanished from my wallet!

Poof! See you later!

Was the fee mistakenly high?

Is there a way to code a warning before creating a nick about the fees?

I can see other people doing the same mistake in the future so I'd like it fixed.

Korean is correct these are fees associated with your purchase of an alias and an improvement we know is needed: https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/issues/103

We are prepping the 0.1.4 release. Will have another post shortly with news on the goodness thats coming.  Grin

I like the new OP and thread.
My only suggestion would be to highlight the exchanges that SYS trades on and move closer to the top.

Was it 5000 Syscoin? Thats the cost for getting a nickname.

WARNING: I say "F*CK". A Lot.
Ideally, for me, I want to peg SYS value to itself. I would like to receive all electronic transfers in the form of SYS and when I purchase from suppliers or pay for the services I use, I would like that to be SYS.

Once a month, or maybe twice, I would like to sell off what I consider my surplus of SYS either on an exchange (such as MintPal) direct to the public market for whatever other crypto or fiat appeals to me - or sell in bulk through some place such as Coinbase but not on a daily basis (which is why your Bitcoins bounce around in price, sometimes wildly - it's not the traders or whales, it's Dell and the other businesses insta-dumping).

Realistically, I doubt it will ever be exactly that way. There will be enough buying and selling on exchanges to keep the price somewhat fluid. I suspect that we are about to see the price go up a lot and very soon. Then it will plateau or make a correction. So, for the present and near future, I am content to make a draft of my forward-plan and adjust it as things develop. While I am waiting, I may catch a few more n00bs with panic in their eyes and ice-water in their blood. I may put up another 'buy' or two to give them an 'exit'.

Excellent point. Can we request to peg the coin to something, so that it will be stable and won't deviate at all? A fixed price would be ideal.

I think many of us want a coin that has a fairly stable value (hopefully upward trending) that people can conduct business transactions with. How do I set a price for LASER services or pre-fabbed items, if the exchange is extremely volatile? Say I offer 1 hour of time on Lucifer for 10000 SYS @0.00001000 but 20 minutes after I get paid SYS drops to 0.00000250 or jumps to 0.00002750 Huh Either I'm gonna be unhappy or the person who paid is gonna be unhappy. That's just too much deviation for anyone to be comfortable with in a tangible-goods or services marketplace environment (not referring to an exchange marketplace here, take note).

Grandma and Grandpa, sure! My grandkids with their short attention spans and demand for instant gratification, NO!

Go find something else for pump&dump, please. It seems you don't want this coin for its intended purpose, you just want it for the NOW flash and are hoping to flip it for an extended period of time. Flip-time was last week.

There's no money without volatility.. Are you guys pitching for a coin your grandma and grandpa can invest in?

+1 for Vicvelcro.  Longevity is the key.  Stability is the key.  Adoption by a wide range of people is the key.

Come on guys. Half the posts are just hot air. Lets get some substance that makes people interested and want to come back.

For those who don't know how to code or make pretty videos or images for marketing just sit back and don't chat about the price and pump groups.

In the mean time we'll wait for people to finish things...like this.

come on guys.. ..i cannot bare hypocrites.. really i cannot... live by your words.. so as you said shut up and let devs do work and thats your words not mine.. u peed me off there..

Syscoin- Changing the way people do business.
Who's JohnDorien? Original Member of Team?

Nope he's just a dev who has realized the potential of the Syscoin APIs, is utilizing the tools the team has provided for developers to get started, has rolled up his sleeves and got to work  Smiley! I've talked with him on skype regarding some questions he had, and now he's even issued a pull request to SysMarket github Smiley more devs need to be proactive like this, it's a business opportunity!

^^ Agreed. This is SysMarket in action, another team project that is now open source and being built upon by people like JohnDorien and others. This leverages the Syscoin API to provide users to a "standard" marketplace experience, not databases at all here just the blockchain!

When can we expect this?

Not quite sure, you would have to ask JohnDorien. It is already possible to build this sort of functionality using the Syscoin blockchain.
We are also planning at some point to introduce more data structures to facility even easier integration with websites and services. This will be done in parallel with the existing road-map.

I encountered a bug while implementing a simple "pay-dividends" page into it.. am waiting for Danosphere to provide some help, as soon as the dividend thing works as expected I will push this example live, including its github repo

edit: as Snipsnoop said if you want to build something take the sysmarket and start building on it Smiley
