So just some small things:

The community dashboard throws an exception when updating.

The points for actions doesn't seem to be working yet or it's not clear whether you need to create an amount of points first.

I made two separate accounts and there seems to be some overlap on details if I fail to logout correctly, also logging in with a different e-mail returns to the previous login. Probably not something you're going to get a lot of but worth noting.

A couple of questions:

Any plans for built-in messages or reaching out to customers through e-mail as a community owner/staff (ie. without adding contacts)?

How do referrals work? There doesn't seem to be a lot of information available on them.

Forgot to add, you have complete freedom to the info you gather and store on members, via the API - We compartmentalize the directories of info using Mongo, so easy to do, and if you have a really big data set, we can always move it off onto another server of your choice (preferably AWS...)

@btbrae - I think when you are running a community, especially in the physical world in shops and restaurants etc, then the real name appears, not their handle or nickname etc. That's what we allow for here.

The shared with contact allows for 10 different "business card" profiles so you can decide what a contact should see about you, and a default one that someone sees when they first become a contact.

By default a community only sees your real name (or whatever your signed up name is) and picture, nothing else about the member unless they want to volunteer the info. I don't want to change this, since this opens up the system for fraud etc. If someone is not bothered about being verified they can use whatever name they want, but if they want to join a club or shop or whatever that says they need to show their real info, the community should have some assurance that what they see is real. However, a community can decide to take anyone in by not stating any verifications needed, and the user can decide not to put his real name in there. There has to be both freedom and control, so we allow for both..Smiley

In your community, you can create a form that you can use to add more info about a member. That is where you can ask or manually add a member's forum name

Thanks, understood, thats good info. Smiley

I'm matching up with bitcointalk accounts so there's some assurance there.

But I noticed when I'm approving members, their names are appearing (as entered in login info) not there public username (as entered in first box under "Shared with Contacts") and I have no way of discovering what their public username is. I figured it should be the other way around? At the moment I can't cross compare people on the approvals list to their bitcointalk account because of this.

There are 4 different levels, but the email verification is used internally...we will remove the email verified from there as it causing some confusion

as a community usually you want to be sure you don't have fake people joining your group, so you can control level of verification. If you don't mind don't put anything, but if you want a bit more security then set SMS verify, and for even more verification you can insist that members of your community have already been ID verified using government ID, and bank verified for AML purposes if a utility bill has been sent to us. We put the control into the community creators hands, but you don't have to worry about checking it. However, if you wanted to create your own verification, you can create a member roles called "verified member" and they can only be that kind of member if you upgrade them.

The 3 different levels for a community to control who joins them will be:

SMS verified
Government ID verified
KYC verified

Thanks but why does it say passport? I unchecked account verification and now the Join button appears but wasn't sure whether e-mails would be verified.

verify passport need when you are input or output USD to bank

I created a community and people can't join due to an unverified message

"
 Need to verify before joining:
    Passport not verified
"

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/tagcoin-giveaway-1500-and-join-crypto-club-ended-327652

The settings for the community were ticked as follows:
+Needs approval
+Account validation (I figured this meant e-mail only?)

So does account validation mean passport?

Edit: I guess it does.

Depositing TAGs can be done via the exchange, but we are still testing stuff out...the TAG is being deposited to the TAG server wallet, but not to the user account ID, so we just have to check the API and then it should be fine.

We are making quite a few changes today and over the next few days to simplify the process. As for the rewards, this is more for your control when giving out rewards for your community, which you can do via the tagverts section. You can pay people rewards for joining, posting reviews or visiting your community, and then you can also add actions on your own site that pay rewards. Will modify it a little bit so you have control of when those rewards are paid out. So for example, you might want to only give out to document verified members, or just to SMS verified members. So we will probably move what you saw there over to Tagverts section - makes more sense there.

As for creating communities, I think we will change the plus back to "create community" - :-)

Thanks for the help. There's quite a lot of work gone into this which wasn't immediately obvious. I'm just playing around atm but I can already feel some ideas starting to float around my head. Very interesting.

Looking forward to being able to deposit tags... doesn't seem available yet.

So I'm trying this out by making a community and I notice this little snippet:

"(Note: Please make sure that the user must be both SMS and Document verified before giving a reward.)"

Is this a legal requirement or just something you recommend to avoid people duping rewards?

Also it wasn't immediately obvious to me how to create a community, I mean I got it after 5 seconds with the red plus icon but sometimes those are for drop down content so my first instinct was to look elsewhere...

Well..money is serious, at least other people's money has to be taken seriously.

As for the typhoon, it is just entering Philippines, but the most powerful storms are hitting south of us. And our office is in the center of Makati, so there are no problems for us. All of our web infrastructure is hosted with Amazon in USA, so no worries there either..Wink

I feel for the provinces just south of us tho - they are going to get hit really hard this time...it is one of the top 12 storms in human history

@ sheinsha - you need to click sync on the TAG deposits to make sure they update balances on the server and within the TAGbank...

@ paladin281978 - it is not needed if you are not transferring money directly to our bank accounts. If you decide to transfer USD or one of the other currencies, then banking laws require that we do KYC (Know your customer) checks for Anti Money Laundering (AML). You will find this in every exchange that takes in Fiat currencies. To do that we need government ID and a utility bill issued in the last 3 months with your address on it. At the moment, depositing crypto currency and taking it out has no regulations like that, but I think before long the banks or government may ask for the same thing. Not yet tho.Smiley
