Still working on BAMT...tried the LTC rabbits version of it since that was reported to be good with these cards, but that gives an error "Failed to load X server", or if I use the VGA to connect, it says no GPUs detected... cannot find a download for BAMT 1.1... I think I should give up and go wakeboarding for the day..come back fresh again tonight..lol

Utility for Windows to write image files to USB stick: http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

I'm uploading the bamt 1.1 image to a filehost. Link will show up when done:

Link: http://goatpc.com/litecoinbamt1.1.zip

I uploaded the stock 1.1 image without any changes, so it's pure and clean. Should work out of the box for you.

However, here's what I do to bring it online for my systems, with some tweaks. Comments in brackets, commands in bold. Should work cut/pasted. I might have a sudo out of place here or there, this is off some scribbled notes, but you get the gist. These steps upgrade you to 3.4.3 cgminer, modifies the BAMT script to use the new cgminer, and sets you up with a handy alias shortcut to see cgminer anytime via ssh. This is all done either via SSH or through Root Terminal. I find SSH easiest.

First: bootup BAMT, setup graphics cards/pools as needed, then proceed:

(1. change the user password)
passwd

(2. new/set root password)
sudo passwd

(3. gogo gadget superuser)
su

(4. new folder for upgraded cgminer)
mkdir /opt/miners/cgminernew

(5. gitclone cgminer)
cd /opt/miners/cgminernew
git clone https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer.git
cd cgminer

(note: 3.5.0 would segfault on me, so i have been using 3.4.3. the following command pulls 3.4.3 source)
git checkout 891c279

(6. move cgminer files to their new home)
cd..
cp -r cgminer/* /opt/miners/cgminernew
rm -rf cgminer

(7. dependancies, might need these, install if so, upgrade if already exist)
sudo apt-get install libudev-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev pkg-config libtool libncurses5-dev

(8. get adl for cgminer scrypt)
cd /opt/miners/cgminernew/ADL_SDK
wget http://goatpc.com/ADL_SDK_5.0.zip
unzip ADL_SDK_5.0.zip
cp include/* /opt/miners/cgminernew/ADL_SDK

(9. compile cgminer)
cd /opt/miners/cgminernew
./autogen.sh --enable-scrypt
CFLAGS="-O2 -Wall -march=native" ./configure --enable-scrypt
make

(9b. exit superuser)
exit

(10. cgminer should work, but bamt needs to know how to run it. modify common file for new cgminer)
sudo nano /opt/bamt/common.pl

(11. find startCG procuedre,  the 2nd instance. comment out the "my $cmd" by putting a hashtag in front of it. below it, use this new command line below. save/exit when done.)
my $cmd = "cd /opt/miners/cgminernew;/usr/bin/screen -d -m -S cgminer /opt/miners/cgminernew/cgminer $args";

(12. create bash profile script to contain handy shortcuts)
sudo nano /home/user/.bash_profile

(13. paste this inside. add any other shortcuts. save/exit when done.)
alias cgm='sudo screen -x cgminer'

(14. install a more tuned-up tahiti scrypt for 79xx/R9 cards)
cd /opt/miners/cgminernew
sudo rm -rf scrypt130511Tahitiglg2tc24000w256l4.bin
sudo wget http://goatpc.com/scrypt130511Tahitiglg2tc24000w256l4.bin

Now, with this done (presuming no errors), and with your cards/pools and bamt setup (/opt/bamt/bamt.conf & /opt/bamt/cgminer.conf), you should be able to fire up cgminer by using:

sudo mine start

and then, if all goes well, latch onto the cgminer instance by using this command:

cgm

If you click on Transfer button, then use the In tab, you will see it appear..sometimes it takes a few seconds to generate an address the first time...

EDIT - I checked and it is a bit intermittent, sometimes the address comes in and sometimes not..will have to check on RPC calls to see what is going on...

@24kilo - trade.tagbond.com will be going away, and replaced with the trade options within tagbond - right now, the main buttons are disabled, untill we test the engine out a bit more and make a couple of changes.

AS for the php error coming up on login at trade.tagbond.com, can you post or send a screenshot?...We've had a couple of people report that. You should be able to use your Tag ID - but I think there is something in the bter code that does not like certain types of passwords with certain characters in it. Can you do a quick password change in Tagbond to a simple one, then try login?..

These issues will disappear when the trading within tagbond goes live. Much simpler to do it via our system...and any coin to any coin or currency as well.

Our office is closed for Xmas till 2 Jan, although I won't be..:-)..SO I will work on community section for Miners, and start putting some stuff up for sale...Got a quote from suppliers in China already for those risers, just have to figure out taxes etc on shipping here and then put some pricing up on the Tagbond..

...in about 10 confirmations I'm going to start selling some TAG for PHP on the official exchange...

Can someone clarify how I can sign into the exchange at 'trade.tagbond.com', when I try to sign in I get a 'php error page', then it sends me to the sign-in at 'tagbond.com' which I am already signed in... I want to post some TAG for sale, so please, any advice would be appreciated.

Also in at 'TagBank' there is a 'trade' option, so does this tie into the exchange or is this a stand alone trading platform. Also how does one activate the e-wallet.

Sorry for being a question box, but I am trying to get my head around this whole thing... without much success at the moment.

Thanks!

@tagbond, Ok, I'm ready to buy 10 units of your rig, and loan the rest. hehe. Do you have a room where I can park them? I'll take home 2 or 3, the rest I have to park them with you or something. (I think your office would have nice clean rooms, electricity, and high speed internet. huh.)

And, in about 10 confirmations I'm going to start selling some TAG for PHP on the official exchange. I'm sure no one is going to buy at 100 PHP, but hey, let's see.

I have an MSI R9 280x which, despite whatever I change, refuses to go above 714-718kh. Makes me wonder if there's a batch of them which are odd this way. Reminded me of it when I saw yours.

I keep getting a 'PHP error' every time I try to sign into the exchange... any suggestions?

Mark,

I would be interested in buying risers from you for TAG. Open a store to support your miners with the things we need to build rigs, risers is a great start. I will pre-order 8 risers.

I am interested in your mining rigs, just need to work out shipping costs to Australia. Maybe JohnDec will want a some as well and we can split the shipping.

And I am in support of Dab's suggestion that we work on a 80PHP and 100PHP spread for TAG.

Now I just have to figure out how to get TAG into the exchange.

I started a thread over at TagYak about the 280X's and will post screenshots later today along with my conf. files for everyone to take a look at.

I use BAMT successfully and have 7970s, and R9 280s running. They average right at 744Kh/s, so 2.9 Mh/s per rig. I run 4 cards per MB with risers.

One note of caution on the BAMT rigs I go through USB drives every 30 - 60 days. Not sure why. I can repartition, reformat and reuse them but each time the length of time they run goes down. On the other hand if I just leave them run and do not make any changes they will keep running even if the USB goes bad. I always catch it when changing to  a different coin or doing something else that interrupts the machine.

Good Luck!

Just one card is showing up on bamt in cgminer? Hrm. You cuold try the fglrx trick.

Also, I haven't tried 1.2, I'm using 1.1. Wonder if that makes a difference.

Those risers look good, have asked them to send me pricing - Schenzen is a place I go quite often for supplies..seems there might be a small market for stuff I can sell via Tagbond for crypto (TAG, BTC etc), stuff I can source in China...

The specs I use are

Adata auv128 usb 3.0 flashdrive (8GB)
Intel g3220 @
Gigabyte GA-z87-d3hp
gskill 2gb 1333
Cougar gx1050 1050w
2 x Sapphire r9-280x

Had them working with xubuntu on USB stick, but no more than 600khs..I know they can do more..so just experimenting and learning..it's a hobby tho..:-)

Struggling a bit with BAMT...cards not registering properly, or just one is - playing with AMD drivers to see if I can use 12.8 since they get more khs than latest beta drivers.

@Dabs - Not going to sell rigs at a future price of PHP...that's the price I will be selling it for, not buying at..lol... but perhaps we can do a deal so you can pay me back in TAG while you mine it - ..Smiley - Let me get BAMT working to get the cards up to 750khs.

I'd be interested. Can you post specs, like what mobo, memory, cpu, psu?

Mark, see if you can get these on the cheap: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/1021325751/1x_to_1X_4x_8x_16x.html.  I've been eyeing this style for a few days now.  I just got a regular 1x to 1x powered riser and it ended up being bad.  I'll scoop up a half dozen or so of these via a tag transaction if you can get them cheap.

Intriguing! I'd love to try 3 of those out.

Installed and booted BAMT 1.2 on 8GB stick...but no networking, tried to add from right hand menu, tried to set manually via /etc/network and resolv.conf but no luck. Does BAMT need configuring of network cards?

I tested the cards, seems 1.2 needs updating of drivers, will try the v12 drivers before beta 13...

UPDATE: seems the mobo needs an update of the lan driver..
http://rumorscity.com/2013/12/14/bamt-why-gigabyte-intel-z87-chipset-could-not-connect-to-the-internet/
will try that later and see if it works..

Keep us up to date Smiley
