The Vertical coin http://vtlcoin.io/ is forking from lyra2z to a new algo that I think will be similar to lyra2z. It is an interesting project and the fork means it wont be nicehashable anymore.
They are looking for a dev for AMD miner. Todx are you maybe interested to help out?

So i tried to plug my usb stick with ethos:) updated to 1.3.2
Set these values:
Globalminer tdxminer
Globalcore 1300
Globalmem 900
Globalvlt 975
Globalfan 75
Globalpowertune 5
Proxypool,proxywallet and poolpass.

All is working like a charm so far:) tested for 15minutes so far and it hashes 3.64mhs per card(12*rx580 4/8gb versions) total hash is 43.76! So very good results for beginning. Ill play with vlt later this week,if anyone has any idea for ethos ill be more that glad. I dont know what powertune and vlt value is efficient and stable,so any advice is much appreciated.

@keksik
The teamredminer should be close to 100% compatible with any previous integration work into hive or ethos, but the existing solutions might need a few tweaks. For example, I see that this guy has create an integration into ethos: https://github.com/unrealjke/ethos-tdxminer, but I assume that adding phi2 would take some additional work. I wish I had the time myself to play around with this, but can't atm.

@dallase
Hmm, that's surprising. Will look into it as soon as I can find some time.

If the connection to the pool is lost, it never reconnects...

thanks a lot, will definitely check for that.

thank you

A few replies to various posts below.

@5BTC
Are you guys planning on optimizing lyra2z any further in this miner?

We are working on a range of algos right now, we'll see when/if we have time to go back to lyra2z. Imho, there are so many subpar implementations for AMD out there currently being the best public miners for different algos. We intend to fix this.

@fluxy12
Please can you do a custom miner on hiveos ?

I've never really used hiveos myself. In the lux discord mining channel there are are nr of people running teamredminer in hive though. I'm sure Jeff from Pickaxe will help you out, especially if you promise to mine at his pool Smiley.

@Dima05
..."but my speed has remained the same"...

I think I replied to the same question earlier, but I understand the confusion. In hindsight we should have been much more clear about lyra2z not being changed at all in this release. It's the same kernel as the last version of tdxminer. However, we felt that the clocks used for the previous official numbers were much too low, they weren't representative of how miners actually have been configuring their rigs. So, we bumped the clocks, and naturally the benchmark lyra2z hashrate went up, but in practice nothing has changed. You will be getting the same speed as before for lyra2z.

@keksik
hello can someone please briefly advise how to mine under linux?

The previous version of this miner, tdxminer, has lots of good information on its old Bitcointalk ANN page, check e.g. page 33 for the crypt0.zone tutorial. A very quick and non-intrusive way of testing the miner is also to install hiveos on a usb stick, then run it from the command prompt or as a custom miner. Check the reply to fluxy12 above.

@khunpoum
more hashrate with amdgpu-pro or ROCm 1.8 drivers ?

The miner uses the same assembler kernels on all supported platforms, so ROCm having a more capable compiler doesn't matter. For OpenCL kernels it could make a big difference, but not in this case. I haven't verified this myself, but I would be very surprised if you see any difference in hashrate between platforms, of course assuming the gpu(s) stay on exactly the same clk/volts.

hello can someone please briefly advise how to mine under linux?
lets say ill get ubuntu on usb stick and use is without installation on ssd, so what to do next?
also for OC, i should only use core on max, leaving mem on default value? what about P stage?

thank you in advance

Nice to have you back, todxx. I thought you had abandoned your miner.

My Vega 64 gets 6.5 MH. I also have performance intentionally restricted to make it run cooler (any significant amount of fan noise just annoys everyone in my house), so that number is probably lower than what other people get.

can I have something with my hands.
but my speed has remained the same. 580-4gb = 3.3-3.5

@SigiSinatra

Memclk is a tad more important for phi2, but really not much. You could potentially lose a few pct points by downclocking it too much. On the other hand, a few saved watts might be the better choice, YMMV. Testing on your own cards with a wattmeter and knowing your $/kwh price is probably the best way to go.

Seems like MCLK is irrelevant for phi2 just like for lyra2z ?

@edwinosky

Ah, look at that, another phi2 coin. Ok, so we need to release a new version that supports both 80 bytes and 144 bytes block header for phi2 in order to support MIA. Will keep you posted.

./teamredminer -a phi2 -o stratum+tcp://eu.bsod.pw:2436 -u AX8iyvLTQL16DLSSm95ry8cKwfqvorTpfs -p c=MIA

I try to extract MixAir to take advantage of the low difficulty but I throw that error, I have already tried in other pools and also the same...

@edwinosky To the best of my knowledge there is only one phi2 coin, LUX. The stratum data in your error message does not look like LUX, it's missing two fields for the extended headers. Can you provide your full command line when you get that error message? I'm guessing you are mining some other algo on BSOD than phi2. I've tested against both ports 6667 and 11518 on eu.bsod.pw for phi2, seems to work fine.

doing tests with this miner, here I leave the results

GPU1 MSI gaming rx580 4gb
GPU2 MSI armor rx480 4gb
GPU3 MSI Armor rx470 4gb
GPU4 MSI Amor 570 8gb

these are the results when extracting LUXCOIN

[2018-09-14 10:38:29] Stats Total - phi2: 19.844Mh/s (19.861Mh/s)

but if I try to extract other coins from the something phi2 throws an error
