Don't buy vega 56-64 , my vegas don't work even 850mv and consumption too much,(7 vgas 1380W from wall),my best findings are 5700nonxt ref. series.
Thanks for advise! Why 5700 nonxt, and why ref.?
Xt's more expensive ,not less chance to memory won't go over (900mhz,5700non xt's 950mhz)refs memory cooling way much better then others(evoke, pulse, mech, msi gaming tested)no idea nitro, strix and red devil(bu these are expensive already).
So you recommend to buy nonxt 5700 blower? Any manufacter?
Yep in memory hard algo's best pick to buy 5700 blowers.Doesn't matter manufacter, all same.just sticker different Smiley)
Thanks!

Does anybody mines eth with vega 56? What speed and power conpsumption it give?
Yes, ~50Mh
core ~1000 , mem ~950
check pbfarmer posts for amdmemorytweak settings.
What power it eat with 50MH?
approx 150w @wall
Hmm, not bad... In compare with RX580...
Thanks for info!

Whant to buy Sapphire Pulse vega 56 for about $350. I should do it?

Might want to look at the pulse 5700 xt instead for ~$410 (or maybe even pulse 5700 for $340?) - assuming you care about power costs / efficiency.  Nitro would be even better efficiency-wise, but price jump is significant - not sure it's worth it.

I'm not up to speed on the latest state of the drivers/miners for navi (other than TRM team still waiting on a proper toolchain,) but it seems 50+MH/s for the 5700xt is normal for 2/3 the power of a vega
Thanks! I looking on 5700xt, but prices is too high on them on my shops... All 5700xt starts from $450 for me...
Exists Asus vega 56 ROG-STRIX Gaming for $400.

Hello,

I am sure, somebody asked this question,

is it possible to run this miner with R9 290 cards, i have some of them and would like to run this miner not only with my rx cards.

any way to do this?
No, the miner does not support the Hawaii cards.

One Vega 56 referent (64 bios, samsung mem) have hardware errors:
[48C, fan 71%]       ethash: 48.36Mh/s, avg 48.54Mh/s, pool 47.27Mh/s a:9112 r:0 hw:164

Any recomendations?

Not all memory is the same - some can take more aggressive timings, some less.  I would trim back your timings changes to a minimum set (and reduce REF), and build from there:

Code:
--REF 15600 --RFC 248 --RAS 30 --RP 12 --RC 44 --RCDRD 14

This will prob get you to 99.5%+ of your list anyway.  If these still don't work - try reducing REF more (try 11700), then maybe RC, then RP - those are your biggest movers.

Also, are you sure you need 850mv for those settings?  All of my vegas (including the flashed 56) are running 930cclk/1028mclk @ 800mv for 47.4MH/s.

EDIT: Take a look at your temperatures (esp mem) on the two different cards as well.  Higher mem temps cause faster charge decay requiring more frequent refreshes (i.e. lower REF).  Mine do just fine w/ REF=15600, but mem temps are all in the high 50's to low 60's.

txs pbfarmer! With your memtweak timings just finished test 24 hour with 0 hw errors ;-)

HBM temperature is low 70's on all cards (can't do much on that, small room with no window for cooling, just one fan, and few holes for fresh air)

Never tried so low mV (800), i don't have power play table for 800, is it possible to running 800 mV with ppt build for 850 mV?

Yeah you can do 800mv(the lowest voltage on vega gpu) with ont&ppt but applied on newer driver

already lowered clocks and mem in Overdrive Ntool:
960/850 core and 1055/850 mem

memtweak:
--CL 20 --RAS 30 --RCDRD 14 --RCDWR 12 --RC 44 --RP 14 --RRDS 3 --RRDL 6 --RTP 5 --FAW 12 --CWL 8 --WTRS 4 --WTRL 9 --WR 14 --REF 17000 --RFC 249

Another card hash 49.1 with same memtweak and 976/850 1075/850 without hw errors.

Any recomendations?
