OK, I need some help guys, I am trying to compile these wallets from source, on two different machines with clean installs, I downloaded/installed Xcode/Macports then installed the required dependencies of boost, db48, qt4-mac, openssl, and git.

I am getting some errors when I run;

sudo qmake terracoin-qt.pro && make

I get the following error:

Server:terracoin dev$ sudo qmake terracoin-qt.pro && make
Project MESSAGE: qtAddLibrary: found framework QtDBus in directory /opt/local/Library/FrameworksProject MESSAGE: qtAddLibrary: found framework QtTest in directory /opt/local/Library/FrameworksProject MESSAGE: qtAddLibrary: found framework QtGui in directory /opt/local/Library/FrameworksProject MESSAGE: qtAddLibrary: found framework QtNetwork in directory /opt/local/Library/FrameworksProject MESSAGE: qtAddLibrary: found framework QtCore in directory /opt/local/Library/FrameworksRemoved plural forms as the target language has less forms.
If this sounds wrong, possibly the target language is not set or recognized.
Project MESSAGE: qtAddLibrary: found framework QtGui in directory /opt/local/Library/Frameworks
Project MESSAGE: qtAddLibrary: found framework QtNetwork in directory /opt/local/Library/Frameworks
Project MESSAGE: qtAddLibrary: found framework QtCore in directory /opt/local/Library/Frameworks
mkdir: Terracoin-Qt.app/Contents: Permission denied
make: *** [Terracoin-Qt.app/Contents/PkgInfo] Error 1
Server:terracoin dev$

I get the exact same error when I try to compile Fireflycoin, so I am assuming I am doing something incorrectly or that I have forgotten to download something.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

May the force bit with you.
Hey Max if you have a chance can you compile version 1.4.0.1?

This version should work.

Thanks for all the great Mac Wallets! Anyone planning to build a Tor Coin wallet too? Seems to be very popular  Smiley

If anyone has any tips for compiling a Mac wallet that implements Tor please help me out.  I know I need libevent2, which I have installed but it's still not working.  I'm guessing I need to edit the makefile to point to the dependencies but I haven't been able to figure it out.

We have separate people for the dev and the charity... The problem is the dev can only use a VM and is struggling to get an executable file. We cant use an existing coin for what we want to do it wouldnt work.

IMHO, a developer who cant compile  Mac wallet dont deserve to be developer at all.
There are plenty of coins with capable devs. If you want to start a charity program to aid someone or something - use existing coins and do not create another shitcoin.
Doing this will benefit everyone. You will not have to struggle with code and you can fully focus on your charity program.

I second this.
I will add to the bounty for this as well.
The coin is being used to help people and the kick off has been slow and we want to bring new devs on board as well as others.
So if anyone has time please contact Gravitate.
I appreciate your time and consideration.

If someone can do a Mac wallet for www.woprldaidcoin.org I will pay a bounty perhaps but PM me first please

Hello Max,

Question on the Quark Wallet:
The most recent windows update included a QR code reveal feature, however I am not able to find how to reveal the QR on my Mac wallet- has this feature been updated on your version?

Thank you very much!

Sure, here's a build of Quark with QR codes turned on: https://www.dropbox.com/s/i17lj5ag3jg9vi4/Quarkcoin-Qt-0.8.3.24-Mac.zip

Thank you very much MAX!!!!
p.s. thank you for the reply on the wallet.dat also, sounds like its a good idea to make copies regularly...
We will have to find out if there is a wallet.dat fix feature for Quark

Also Max,

From the Quark Forum this issue:
So I'm running the newest version, 8.3.22 on the latest version of OS X, 10.9.2

One day, Quark wallet crashed and wouldn't reopen. I have a backup of the corrupted wallet file, but no time machine backups going further back than that for technical reasons.

So I took things a step beyond the "try deleting prefs" stuff. I downloaded a new copy of the wallet in to a completely new machine. I let it sync up to the network. Then I quit and tried swapping in my corrupt wallet. It doesn't like this. When I try...

It loads the block index...

It tries to load the wallet...

Then the error happens:
A fatal error occurred. Quark can no longer continue safely and will quit.

EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error
CWalletDB::ListAccountCreditDebit() : cannot create DB cursor
quarkcoin in Runaway exception

Although, I'm pretty sure I usually get a different error. But I hit ok on that error message, and Quark goes bye bye. Just tried it again, same error. If I remove the wallet.dat file, quarkcoin wallet will fire up no problem, just with an empty wallet. This is a totally clean fresh installation of quarkcoin, on a machine that has never had it installed before. This problem started on my old machine that has been running quarkwallet for a few months. As I said above, one day it crashed and wouldn't reopen.

What else can I do?

wallet.dat can definitely get corrupted if the wallet crashes, on any system. All I can suggest is to go back and look for an uncorrupted backup of that wallet.dat. Sad

Some wallets have a repair function built in. I'm not sure if Quark does, but it's worth asking around on the Quark threads.
