'I agree a disclaimer should be put on the front page that we're in no way associated with the Tor Project.'

There IS a disclaimer on the main page that clear states TorCoin is not affiliated with Tor Project.

Also, we have a new potential logo, for example: https://TorCoin.org/newlogo.png

However, since Tor Project has never contacted me directly, I am not interested in changing to the new logo at this time.  If they want to contact me and formally request that I change the logo, I will consider it.

Ohh, sweet!
We could use that as our Signature Campaign Avatar Smiley
Also, buy price on Cryptopia is 0.0011BTC
Just deposited a dozen TOR to sell there and buy double on C-CEX  Cheesy Cheesy

Aaaand, it's gone
Someone took it before me Cheesy
Too bad Cryptopia requires 20 confirmations instead of 10 like C-CEX
I was on 17 when someone took the 10 TOR buy offer, there was one more for a couple of TOR that cleared before I deposited  Cheesy

Also on Cryptopia it's not just TOR/BTC, we got TOR/DOGE, TOR/LTC and TOR/UNO Smiley

You can't cease a cryptocurrency, you can try to affect the exchanges though.
Tor Project has shown no signs of trying to put down Torcoin, they merely let out a statement letting people know they're not running Torcoin and that's it.

I agree a disclaimer should be put on the front page that we're in no way associated with the Tor Project.

I don't feel it's a major concern but it should be addressed.

This issue is causing a real concern in some quarters which has landed the op some red trust and that alone is a tag here that people take seriously even me myself, I had to go check it out why the red was there to get a better understanding.  I still believe a disclaimer to clear the issue raised and the red trust will bring an end to the lingering issue any time anyone visit the thread but disclaimer will allow every one get over it and move on.

Exactly, I believe this should be addressed because new investments will probably not even look through the thread after seeing the tag.

There is no way to address it. Anyone can leave red trust for anyone else, for whatever reason.  There is no reasonable trust system on here and the mods could care less.

Note that the official announcement thread for TorCoin is here >>

http://torcoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=3.0

I won't be participating much on Bitcointalk except to post announcements to this thread.

Waiting TORcoin in Poloniex!!
U mean slomoniex? The exchange is gone to rubbish I think.
The site is now having alot of trouble with payouts and trading with lagg.
We better get on bittrex, that site is more trustable.

Yeah, Bittrex should be our primary objective.

Also >> We will be listed on Cryptopia very soon!

I see its live now at cryptopia, https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange?market=TOR_BTC

Nice observation  Cheesy Cheesy

Should we start trading on Cryptopia instead of C-CEX, hmm..

i think yes, but i let the value settle first, i see no real volume like we have on c-cex, and the buy order is still very low at 10k satoshi, i can't trade if buyers think that i'll dump that low lol

I found the time to decompile the current windows torcoin-qt.exe to investigate for myself what exactly might be causing these anti-virus 'false' positive reports.

I have concluded that the 'history' of the code base (and perhaps the irc connectivity) is causing the issue here.

~ Let me say that this perhaps has much to do with how the .exe was compiled and whilst it's attributes are more towards being 'non-malicious' it certainly does not help your project that major anti-virus companies (including Avast, AVG, Symantec, Kaspersky, McAfee, ZoneAlarm and others) current AV signatures present your software as being malicious.

If the situation is resolved with a future release that I will retract my previous thread warnings, to this regard.

However, this does not change the fact that this project also carries a potential Trademark Infringement and/or is presenting very misleading information with regards to the anonymity of the current software.

I consider myself to be a fair and forthright individual. The community here should be aware of said issues for transparency.

Don't the developers (or community) have any concerns that they might receive a Cease and Desist letter in the future?

No they don't care. You just presented some hard facts. And hard facts for them are just "fud that you get paid to spread".

TorCoin is looking strong today and heading to $2 soon

Also >> Sig campaign paying in TOR will be ending, and I will not be paying out anymore TOR bounties on this forum, as it seems to depress the price (only sellers here, no buyers)

Also >> We will be listed on Cryptopia very soon!

It's sad the payment for the the signature campaign will not be in TORcoin anymore. Maybe you can reconsider this for another week to those people who joined in the campaign to earn and hoard the coins just like me. Last week I bought 20 TorCoins when the price is under 90k+,I'm still holding and waiting for the price to rally to the moon.

keep in mind the amount of FUD on the Dash thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1864282.new#new) far outweighs the FUD on the TorCoin thread ..

and look at the price of Dash :-)

Conclusion; almost no crypto investing comes from Bitcointalk
This assumption is wrong.I believe anyone involved with bitcoin or crypto visits this forum atleast once in his lifetime.
We have a lot of big traders and whales here but they know the difference between FUD and Hype thats why it have no affect.

What I'd like to mention is making the signature payment campaign longer (aka 1 month) doesn't make sense in order to benefit prices
It would just create a larger dump all at once  Cheesy
I don't think signature payouts are that significant that they would impact the price though

Anyways webroot whitelisted us

This forum is the proper place for launching a crypto and no other forum can beat that fact, lots of signature campaign has been launched and ended and i am 100% that there are a lot to launched for the signature campaign really helps to boost the promotion of a coin or services offered.
i also have known torcoin from a signature of one of the forum member here and it made me purchase a few coin from C-CEX for i can see that this coin can be an ETHEREUM in the making.
A good example to see how effective signature campaign in gathering investors is the recent QUANTUM pre ico. They have reached 4mil us dollars value of btc with the help of spreading the news about it just here in the forum through signature campaign. It took a month to get to that. Also a lot of good services uses bitcointalk signature campaign to get more people to be aware that they exist. This happens to TOR. At first I do not know this coin and because I see it in others signatures, I decided to get involved. Check stats in coinmarketcap to see if its a good coin and decided to be a part of the community.
