I think everyone needs to take a minute and realize this coin is barely out of its infancy. People are still mining the coin. People still want the coin. I am sure there are many more people outside of this forum that are mining USDe and see the potential and just aren't chiming in here. I think the best course of action is to continue the positive talk about the coin, ignore the haters and dumpers and keep plugging away at a steady pace.

Update the community with new features/exchanges/etc and let the coin get mined. Tell other miners about USDe and point them to the website and forum threads. The real miners will see USDe for the value it has and the kiddies will continue to mine memes and other coins.

1.6B coins is a good number for commerce and sustainability. Not too much to be worthless, yet not to little to not be accepted by merchants.

Remember, we are still in the experimental phase with all cryptos. Retailers are just now starting to see how Bitcoin and Litecoin are being used for commerce and they want a piece of the action. No reason other coins, including USDe can't be a mainstream medium of exchange.

Its not going to happen overnight. It will take time. So I think the best thing to do is to stay positive, get the word out and keep mining.

Anyone up for 2 cents, my 2 cents  Wink

The whole coin market right now is all messed up right now. Many coins are down to historic lows. What is going on with USDE is minor. We have great support, a great community and a good devs that really care about the coin. Patience is the key folks. USDE has great ideas and many things in progress. Just remember this all takes time to implement and work towards.

Hang in there, USDE is just fine.

Agree, be patient, VERY patient to survive.  The only coins doing well right now (and still not good) are new hyped ones (Maxcoin I'd say) that was a horrid launch - but has his TV presence to promote, nothing special about it either, no cause... and few other coins.  Overall, everyone is on their lowest lows, especially USDe which is new anyway.

well, probably not the end. but for sure a decent example (not the first unfortunately) of how to ruin people's faith and confidence. Great job USD-e!

I think that miner/investor participation is just a multiplication of coin dev team efforts. If some of them have decided to devote more, that's great, but it's rather a bonus. You can't just reproach people for low activity. The team should show example themselves, and I can't recall many activities during the last period (except for luckyguy2807).

If I ran a coin I wouldn't ever spread a bad news, unless to dump a price is a purpose. Keep problems inside the team and do your best.

If world appeared to be too cruel and community is too lazy and you ran out of resources, then let's just go to a big exchange for pump-n-dump. But I think when you decided to create a coin, you most probably had the big plans and were full of ideas. So stick with them and it push the coin forward!

I do like your post. And not because I agree with everything you say but because it is an honest and decent reaction.
Maybe the Dev has indeed been to open about this. But then again, he always has been open about developments.
I do prefer mining and investing in coins where people are honest. If I lose out on this coin, no problem. If I gain, perfect.

Man I love the Difficulty.  Cool

It's amazingly low right now - but going up a little.  Racking up the coins here too!

Lot's of over reaction in the ~5-10 verbal people here.  There are a lot more miners/others that own and care about this coin.  Don't let these peeps deter you as it's incredibly cheap and easy right now - and a prime target for a major pump and increase.  Getting to the point where it can only go up now.

Someone care to get me up to date on what's going on with this coin?

Has 'catastrophe' struck the coin in some way, or the devs left it?

Any info will be welcome.

I do not think that a 'catastrophe' struck the coin. It got a big blow but is still standing.
The main dev has had to deal with a number of set-backs and was open about this.
As far as I understood he is not abandoning the coin, but certainly does need help from the community.

I do agree with you and with luckyguy2807. This is certainly not the end.
This might and should even lead to more effort from the community to getting the coin in a position where it should be.
I will do my best to help the coin get forward.

The future is bright with DigiByte.
Guys, it's not the end.
What USD-e is trying to say is that there are 300 mil coins now , and this coins belongs to the community. We are free to do what we want with them.
300 mil coins now worth 200k USD. It's a start.

Exactly! This is the way it should be anyway. So lets get started. You have my support.
I will write you a pm soon.

Best.

Updates from the USDe Development Team

We would like to remind everyone that we're coming up on 1 month of USDe's existence.  Yes, we have had a few bumps in the road, but none of them will prevent us from continuing and reaching our goals.  A lot of our users will undoubtedly come across lots of new coins that are released in the meantime, some may even be legitimate, but please remember that USDe is not a joke, abandon, or pump and dump coin, but a project, which we are actively developing and shaping to compete with the same fiat currencies that you convert your cryptocurrency coins into.

We are very far from USDe's value at maturity and are working on securing a big investment into our project.  This thread has been a little quieter than usual, but this isn't at all a reflection of the continued interest in USDe.  We realize that some in our community measure success by the amount of chatter that happens on this thread - and therefore if anyone of our more vocal supporters would like to take a more active role in keeping things alive here at bitcointalk, please e-mail [email protected], so we can discuss.

A few highlights of the things we're working on:
  • New Windows wallet - should be released in the next 24-48hrs
  • Updates to the Web Site, including publishing of first blogs
  • Securing appropriate partnerships and connections to bring about tangible services and places where USDe can be spent and traded for goods and services
  • SEO / Internet-based marketing and press exposure is underway, and is being handled by a professional marketing company
  • By the end of next weekend / Monday, you should expect a big, positive surprise - we may be able to share more details on what it is either on Friday or Saturday
  • We are also developing a Foundation for USDe, which will be used to raise funds that will help with spinning up additional sites & services outside of those we are already planning.  If you hold a large amount of USDe (above 2M) you can make your pledge public here towards this community-driven effort or contact us for more details.

Thank you for your continued support.  Have a great rest of your weekend!

GO USDe!!!

Does it mean that all of the above have been dropped ?

I didn't invest 20 BTC, but I bought at 500 satoshi. We're just going through a rough time I think we will bounce back up. We need more dedicated miners.
