I have also written this on USDe's own forum site.
Another coin create an e-commerce website that they sell Amazon gift cards and some other stuff with their coin. So maybe something like USDe's own e-commerce website will be a great thing to do. But this will require a lot of extra job, but once that is done and many merchants start accepting USDe, no coin can compete with USDe. Merchants, even small ones, should be encouraged (maybe some bounty or agreement) to accept USDe and they should advertise USDe in the mean time.
There are a lot of coins out there and some of them are very expensive just because they are rare. However, they may have no use in many places. Imagine if you want to purchase something very expensive over the internet, then you could just use an expensive coin that worth much more, lets say 2 coin of it (Bitbar for example). However, you can buy a lot of things over the internet for cheap, so why on earth someone will use bitbar to buy something that is cheap. So it is like a balance or optimality between the price of the things over the internet and value of the coin. Here I want to imply that many coins will be out there, and most of them will survive just because of their little bit of uniqueness. USDe will survive because the idea is very unique. So here we should aim to make the advertisement very nicely by using many different media organs (bounties, merchants, other online trading and e-commerce websites, twitter, FB etc... and more)
