It's fun playing on the dice game
)) I just have to control myself from betting too high... lol
I have less than 100k
so hard being a miner with less than 1MH/s :/
lmao I finally hit a positive profit on the dice game
I'm right there with you on mining with under 1 MH/s. I've got 14 Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-x's on order though so that should change soon. I just wish I could get an actual ship date for the cards.
Lucky you
it's hard to get credit here so unless I can save up enough for those cards I'm stuck with my 5870 stuck onto a motherboard that can't even handle it's full power lol.
at least I think I can change the motherboard soon though so I can finally use it's full 400 khash lol
The hardest part in the US is to actually get the video cards. They are sold out everywhere and when you can find them they are ridiculously overpriced because the demand is so high.
I definitely have put a considerable amount of money into my hobby (mining) but I'm committed to it for two years no matter what happens. It looks like it is going to be an interesting adventure. It looks like many miners simply dump their coins constantly to pay for whatever hardware they have purchased + electricity. I'm going to take the opposite approach. I'm going to horde a variety of coins and see if one of them really makes it huge.
I have no idea what your financial situation is but it sounds like you could use a hardware upgrade. Maybe set some money aside and make a rig dedicated to mining and see what happens.
Yep that's really my plan. Setting aside money I'm doing that but at this pace it'll take awhile XD that's why I'm hoping for a chance to dump just once. All I would ever need to jumpstart a good enough rig is just 1 btc and I'll get there. I have a friend who made 10. I'm sure I could do the same one way or another. He also had hashes below 1m xD

Your motherboard is not important for mining. On a pcie 1x slot your card will already mine at full capacity.
It wouldn't? Even if I'm using PCIE 1.6? I think it's the only reason I can't get hashes of 400 properly. I noticed that I can't overclock my 5870 passed 850 core clock and 1200 memory clock. Anything beyond that crashes the gpu haha. I can't even set the thread concurrency more than 4800 anything higher would make cgminer crash too.
I tried looking for anything wrong...from psu to broken cooling and the only conclusion I came up with is an inadequate motherboard. The board is somewhat old...it's an lga775 socket. Am running on core2quad lolololol
