I just read a lot about bitnet, of course not every comment... Sadly I am a bit late. Are there some ways to obtain VPNCoin?
But my biggest question is: As Bitnet provides a pulic VPN between the users, if someone uses my proxy connection and downloads some illegal stuff, in my country I am responsible for that. So in the worst case I would be thrown in jail for someone else downloading illegal things. Or did I get something wrong?
I'm in the same boat mate. I think just by running the wallet they are distributed, but like you I'm unsure on the legality of it all if someone access something using my IP.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts about legality.
And because of that and some other reasons it would be nice to have a client that does not automatically change windows settings to pass every internet connection through the VPN. Instead it would be nice to just configure your browser to use the vpn connection to Bitnet without changing all windows settings every time I start a connection to Bitnet. I have a lot of software that I do not want to pass through the VPN.
Spot on guys !
NEVER allow others to use your ip if you can into trouble with the law !!
To prevent others to use your ip make make sure you have following settings disabled :
-start vpn service
-start p2p proxy
Here is a quick user guide :
502 error is just that what it says, site off line or the node that host the site is not connected to your client.
In BitNet settings, tab "all nodes" you can check if you are connected with the right node, check for nickname "BitNetTalk.com".
Also have a look for "dice.com", "
www.game.com", and check if you can load these sites.
If you can, then BitNetTalk.com is off line.
In BitNet settings, tab "settings" you can enable all you see in "normal" settings.
However in "service" settings ONLY enable :
-open p2p Domain Name System
-start http service
-start https service
Make sure you have following settings disabled :
-start vpn service
-start p2p proxy
If not present, add the following in the text box just above "start p2p proxy" and "work threads" :
localhost;127.0.0.1
Hit "SAVE" when done !
Following ports should be forwarded :
920 - TCP
922 - TCP/UDP
923 - TCP/UDP
Read your manual how to configure your modem/router !
