Do you understand that vdice is not provably fair or decentralized?
Do you understand that this is the basis of their product?
Sure. This is all explained in the official code audit, and also by multiple qualified gambling site owners/developers. (I am neither developer or owner)
A decentralized system doesn't necessarily mean cheating isn't possible. It would mean that everyone would have the equal chance to cheat.
But the point isn't whether or not they will cheat, or have cheated. It's whether they are decentralized.
Players and Investors send their ETH to Smart Contract Address.
Smart Contract relies on oracalize and random.org to determine the outcome of the bet.
Smart Contract is decentralized.
Oracalize and Random.org are not.
Players have to trust the people who work for Oracalize and Random.org have not and will not cheat them by providing the first number generated by their RNG after the call.
THere are tons of ways the player could be cheated that could be detected after the fact. YOu only need to see the support chat. Players constantly have to submit support tickets to get their bets unstuck.
There are also a few scenarios where they could be cheated in a way that would be impossible for the player to detect.
In addition, there are ways for vdice admin to steal investor funds held in the smart contract bankroll.
