Wanted to take some rest today but ended up committing more code 
I think that's it for tonight. Some more difficult fixes to do but I save those for tomorrow. If I'm lucky, I wake up at 5am to work on Viacoin. Worse case 7am.
Btw... I don't recommend coding this long on a chair. My back starts to hurt to a bit

at this rate we might see segwit even before it activates on bitcoin

Hello all,
The initial blockchain download is painfully slow, even after downloading most of it from http://cryptochainer.com (great service). Would someone be so kind as to upload an updated blockchain to them? - it would save literally days waiting for the download to finish.
Also, I notice that my daemon will only connect to 8 nodes, despite me having over 20 addnodes in my conf file - is this a known issue?

Edit: OP says the latest version is 10.8 but after compiling from git my version is showing 10.9 - am I using the correct version?
It's the correct version. Wouldn't worry about it. Sync time is usually takes me a few hours only. Been busy today creating the unit tests for Viacoin transaction. (Took me a couple hours to create a virtual machine, load core walet, sync etc.)
Working on the raw transactions, signing etc all for the unit testing. Making sure the new Viacoin version is stable
the test data is located in src/test/data directory but I need someone to double check everything before committing github viacoin viafresh repository.
I also want to thank the person who was so kind to donated.
I really appreciate it !
Just paid Vultr cloud server monthly bill for the Vialectrum wallet the donation.
