i have install the viacoin-0.13.3-win64.exe wallet and start the sync.
Suddenly at the block 2880354 it has stopped synchronizing and for some hours it remains at 42 weeks.
It has something to do with the segwit or where is the problem?

Thnx for you're answer. I know it's just speculation but I don't think there are a lot of coins that have a dev like viacoin has. Or the development and there are not many via's also.
And if you look at a guy like Otoh who has a s*** load of via in his wallet i don't understand with all te good news thats via isn't already 5 or 6 dollars.

It varies what people think but my general conclusion is that it will be anywhere between 10-50$ next year but keep in mind this on pure speculation. I have read alot of threads about previous price predictions and they are almost never accurate or they predict way to low or way to high. People where saying zec would be worth 50$ in a year and look where it is right now

I have let it run and up to 43,000 blocks, its been on for about 5 hrs. Is it suppose to be that slow, I am relatively new to cryptos so I don't know if I am doing something wrong.
It depends. Are you using an SSD or a spinning HD? It usually takes me a lot longer to sync to an HD than an SSD. I'm on an SSD and I've been running it for less than an hour and I'm over 10k blocks so far.

Also do not use the Viacoin bootstrap available on cryptochainer.com.
They use an old database format.
I recommend to sync with the wallet from scratch.
If you did use it, backup your wallet.dat & export your private key.
After that delete the bootstrap and sync from scratch.

This wasted a large portion of my day - I thought I had deleted everything but I must not have and now it's syncing normally... /facepalm and thanks to Romano for reaching out and making me realize I f'ed up!

For the exact reason you just mentioned. Segwit is not that big of a deal to reach 5$.
I could be wrong, but are you implying viacoin would not even rise a little cause of your argument?
And to be clear, viacoin is still a solid investment coin with a potential to reach 10$, but not cause of segwit. Viacoin is one of my most trusty altcoins.
10$ Is a sure thing eventually.

That's normal. If you go to debug, you can see the current blocknumber. The gui only updates those 3 years and 1w stats after being fully synced. That's normal, I think bitcoin has it too if I'm correct. Bitcoin's progress indicator moves, as do other wallets. It may be a normal cosmetic issue for Via, but it's not normal across the board.
Have you looked at my post above, with the screenshot?
I checked the log file, and everything looks normal - it's just extremely slow. Why is it downloading loads more data than it's committing to the chain file? (again, see my screenshot)
