My page's still loading ;~;

This is so cool. I can only tell by the low-res image given on the thread, though. Any idea what that avatar is that's taking up like 20% of the image, especially in the lower section of the image?

Set the html tag for each image to the userID!!!!

You said that they're sorted by color, but the OP says they're sorted from 1 to 820k. You also said that it's only showing the 8+k avatars. Which one!?!?

You have plenty of time to upload an avatar as my re-scan of jpg and gif avatars is at around #270,000.

At the moment I have only the first 2500 images loading as I work on the interface a bit, and hopefully come up with a way to pre-load blocks so that Chrome works. At the moment only IE is recommended.

Is it Friday yet?

I love it ! That's a really awesome project ! Now I'll have to find my avatar. But tell me, did you included people having promotional avatars ?
Yes. I skimmed it for avatar campaigns when initially checking and I could find patterns of pd avatars, aswell as some rollin/bitcointalk.club and asorted other avatars.
Interestingly, there are rather long strings in the low numbers, where services created 10 or more new accounts and set their avatar (back when it was possible for users below full member status).

Thank you for the answer. Now I'll have to find my avatar, but since it makes my web browser crash, I'll maybe won't be able to ever do it Undecided.

Fun Fact: Out of the 860,000+ users, only 9,772 members had an avatar.
Thats because there are more newbies, jr members and members compares to other higher ranks.
Btw are you willing to make a poster out of it in future?

That is very true, I almost forgot about that limitation for new members. As for printing a poster, I may consider a poster once I have some designs made.

A poster is an awesome idea! I'd buy it!!

Why?

Simply because it was another one of my "what if?" projects. I was simply curious and wanted to see if I could make something out of nothing.

Lol. Nice !

Anyway, I guess you have a crawler in place. I would be good to also show bitcointalk username, bitcoin address, trust rating and email address and give a  fast search on these.

Lots of skipped gif's and jpg's are now showing up on the website. It's nice to see the old gif's again.

Dynamically updating so if you change your avatar, it will update*.

In any case, store the previous images then, because with this you could make an animation of the dynamically changing images and thus have some kind of timelapse over the months/years. Dat true dynamic!  Grin

Now there's an idea. Differential and incremental backups of all avatars Smiley

Nice. How do you form an image out of it ? I mean is the Bitcoin logo composed off the avatars from bitcointalk ?
A Feature Request : It would be cool to type in my user ID and then it points out where my exact avatar is in the picture. Smiley

Glad you like it! I am using a collection of programs and scripts which take each of the 9,700 BitcoinTalk avatar images and pieces them together based on their average color.

I am hoping to implement a feature for the website, not sure about the picture. This is in the very early stages of development so hopfully something can be implemented. Thanks for the input! Smiley

Pretty cool, an interesting development for the community here.  How did you go about collecting all the avatars?

I ran a 10 line script which iterated against each members avatar id jpg URL until I reach the current count of members. Thanks for asking Smiley

Interesting thing, definitely a very cool idea. Now where am I? Cheesy
(Edit: Seems my avatar is missing, too bad :/.)

That would help me with finding my Jon.

I guess you could pull them from the direct links (https://bitcointalk.org/useravatars/avatar_UID.png)

You got it spot on Smiley EDIT: Added support for jpg and gif as well. Rescanning... D'oh  Wink

Introducing

WE-ARE-SATOSHI . COM

Water mark "Naypalm" is not in final product. For OP display purposes only.

Features:

Over 12,000 public user avatars from the BitcoinTalk.org forum

On the website, they are in order from 1 to 860,000+

Dynamically updating so if you change your avatar, it will update*.

About:

Scans are being made July 14 thru July 25 2016 of every user avatar on the BitcoinTalk.org forum. Scans take ~10 days.

Fun Facts:
- Out of the 860,000+ users, only around 12,200 registered members have an avatar.
- Only 10,195 are unique, so a little over 2,000 were spam ad avatars.

Why?

Simply because it was another one of my "what if?" projects. I was simply curious and wanted to see if I could make something out of nothing.

Coming Soon:

Unique Series Mosaic images, lithograph/inkjet posters, and canvas may be available.

Donations:

BTC Donations are greatly appreciated at 1LNziaNAwJSfMgpnFMKiwYFGDx47Q55qS6

I am hoping to get some great art pieces posted up for sale soon. Feedback is greatly appreciated!  Smiley

*eventually.

Updates:

9-16-2017

The Mosaic ID search is now working after a year of hiatus. Mosaic ID Search

I am working on a much more stabler front page as well as a way to start selling canvas and paper poster prints.

7-24-2016

Small update, scanning is almost complete. It is now at 802,000 and should finish up overnight. Total scan time for this project is ~10 days. Phew!  Shocked

Later on this week, I will post up examples of some designs and will consider everyone's opinions, so please participate!

A fuzzy sneak peak from this weekend:
