UPDATE

We are now entering the last 26 hours of our ICO. You can join here: https://c-cex.com/?p=wrp-btc

We've been monitoring the network and it is looking healthier, difficulty went down as expected and although still a bit more block times are now closer to 12 minutes. We will soon post a blog entry detailing why the 12 minutes since we've been asked that question a lot. (The TL;DR is because the Fourier Protocol takes some extra time to compute stuff).

I know it's not the first on the priority list at the moment but checking out the example of Tor market http://mwy3ogagzse5cubq.onion/ and i hope you will make it work without javascript for maximum security.

We are aware of that, that's just a placeholder website. The 1st version won't have javascript.

Alright, pool is running again https://gflare.io/coin/wrapper
We had a problem with a corrupt blockchain, I fixed it a few minutes ago.

First 500 blocks is scrypt
After that, I will update wrapper to Lyra2 for the pool.

I thought it was neoscrypt but never mind

Can someone hook a brotha up with a CPU miner that would work for this coin?

https://github.com/tpruvot/cpuminer-multi

Hello im new on this...im mining zcash right now but i dont really understand yet how WRP is mining. Can someone help me on this?...another question is if WRP is going to be mine with GPU some day?

Please explain if i got to create a bat file or the procedure.

Regards.

That atleast but, i do not know much about that program. Atleast some pools will start to work after block 500 (i hope)

We were investigating why the blocks were taking a lot more than 12 minutes and our conclusion is that miners threw a lot of hash at Wrapper in beginning in the hopes of instamine the first coins. That attempt was unsuccessful and miners left, leaving us with a high difficulty. This will make the next block take a lot longer to mine but should be solved when the diff is updated. Which happens every 5 blocks. https://github.com/wrapperproject/wrapper/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L2119

When the network hash stabilizes we should get near the 12 minutes per block mark.

You can help us by mining with your wallet ("setgenerate true" in the console).

Is there a way to see the hashpower thats pointed at the network?

The networkhashps parameter when you do "getmininginfo" is a good estimative after the networkhash settles for a bit. In the meanwhile you can have an idea by seeing how much hash pools are throwing at it

Thank you, also congrats on a smooth launch!

the block times on this coin are messed up it seems

Blocktime is 12 minutes but it can suffer wild variations in the begging since the hash power being thrown at the network is changing quickly.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

what's the diff this coin with zcoin then? is it just a clone?

Every coin needs to start with a base source. We choose zcoin because there's already a miner for it and already has zerocoin implemented on it. We are now building on top of zcoin. See our roadmap for more info.

A clone with more capabilities and a marketplace.

First 250 blocks are low reward (1 WRP) to avoid instamine, the algo will start at scrypt-n and change to a custom implementation of LYRA2 at block 500.

to be specific, is it Lyra2RE or Lyra2REv2?

Lyra2REv2 based off zcoin
